Hunt Showdown is a unique take on the battle royale genre. To start off the PvP is phenomenal, each kill is satisfying, the gunplay feels smooth, and the game rewards taking time to line up your shots since every shot matters. The risks in this game are high since death is permanent for each hunter so every fight is thrilling and it gives you a real adrenaline rush. The sounds in this game are outstanding and are crucial to this game since a large part of tracking down other players is by sound. There are many environmental traps to give away a players position (EX: Horses, Chicken/Dog Coops will cluck/bark if a player startles the animals, Crows/Ducks will fly away making a loud cawing noise and flying up so other players will both see the birds fly up and hear the birds fly away). It is very important to be as quiet as possible and have as little footprint as possible. The PvE on its own is good, although the AI on the bosses can be quite janky sometimes for example the bosses the assassin and spider when killed on a wall would sometimes glitch and you cannot banish the boss to get the bounty which can be fairly frustrating. Although for the normal monsters like the Grunt, Hell hounds, Immolator, Hives, Meat Heads, and Armored the AI usually works as intended. The monsters in this game are one of a kind, the models on the monsters are very well done and creative, I also love how every monster has a lore behind them. Although its optimization isn't very good. It has definitely gotten better although it suffers from occasional micro stutters. I run the game from 60-90 FPS with an I7 8750h, GTX 1060 Max Q, and SODIMM 20 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 RAM (G7 7588 with upgraded RAM).
