It breaks my heart to see this as Mixed/Negative reviews because I don't think it's deserved. There's a fantastic game underneath these performance issues and I don't think that should be ignored.

If you're a fan of the franchise, this will be like World 2 for you - it's been fantastic so far. If you are new to the franchise, this is the most accessible way to enter the world of Monster Hunter. Everything in the game so far gets explained really well, you get gear recommendations if you get stuck (although the recommendations aren't great, it's a starting point!)

Yes I can't ignore performance issues, I'm struggling myself on a 32:9 Ultrawide with a 3070, and it's okay. But even with the performance issues I still recommend this game. I'm hoping it will get better as it did with Monster Hunter World (PC launch was a disaster) and I'm waiting patiently for this to be patched up too.

So far the story is great, characters are funny, movement and weapons feel great. Every weapon I've tried makes you feel like a boss and that's great.

The world and environment in this game feels alive and it invites to be explored. So many little critters to see, fish to catch, loot to grab.

Go out and enjoy the game.

Yes it's early access, yes things are broken and some content is missing - be patient people! I've not had any dramatic performance issues (sometimes the game would stutter in AI races), running 0.1.2 patch single screen on high to ultra settings on Ryzen 9 7900, Nvidia RTX 3070 PC. You definitely need a beefy PC to run this properly, sorry to say this. Every issue that I've encountered so far was luckily fixed with a game restart.

I can say that this game has revived Sim racing for me. I was never into ACC or iRacing, race cars do not interest me (they're fun to drive but it's personal preference I guess) and the sheer amount of broken or even paid mods on original Assetto made the whole experience frustrating. However, with Assetto Corsa Evo, ripping around in the Abarth feels exciting, or even trying to drift linking up corners with the GR86 on Suzuka. The driving experience is fantastic and we've got so much more coming. The day to night cycles are great, weather looks good - not sure if the rain actually affects handling just yet. I had to mess around with the FFB settings to make this game feel good to me and it changed the whole driving completely. Now I can tell just how much steering I need to counter steer to catch that slide.

Yes I'm also aware of the always online aspect (has it actually been confirmed that the game needs online access 100% of the time??) and the server issues since launch, but I think the shady modding practices where it's "acceptable" to rip models from older games (and even sell them! shame on you) and the people who blindly download them or even pay for them are to blame for all this mess. We've been given a gold standard in game development with Assetto Corsa, with SDK's handed for us which the people behind the "Content Manager/Custom Shaders Patch" and "Pure" actually providing incredible value to the game and yet the community has taken advantage of that by charging for models ripped/stolen from other franchises - honestly, it's not a good look. So before you shout about this whole online requirement, answer this - how many of these individuals have you supported by buying mods with stolen intellectual property for Assetto Corsa? Yes it sucks that this has happened and we all lose out by this but I'm glad the developers are doing something about it this time around, it seems like they're trying to protect themselves by implementing this - good on them.

I believe in the developers to deliver what they've set out to achieve, the foundation is already solid. Enjoy the game and log the bugs!

It's great. Atmosphere is great, soundtrack is great. Laggy on my aging PC. Recommended if you like co-op shooters.

Update:

After many months of updates, this is actually my go to FPS. For someone who hasn't had a great experience from the launch of the game, I think they've managed to turn this game around to what should have launched in the first place. I highly recommend other people who haven't played it recently to give it another chance. And for new players with the current massive discount (18th May 2023), it's no brainer.

What can I say. Big disappointment from "HaRDcOrE" Battlefield fan. Wish the guns worked properly (assault rifles have insane recoil). No voice chat. Runs worse than Cyberpunk 2077. Cannot for the life of me recommend this at the moment. Fingers crossed this makes a comeback, because I want to love it.

Shoot some balls at your friends. Good game.

GREAT GAME

If you are looking for something stylised and refreshing to look at while providing you with challenging new mechanics, this is the perfect game for you. Created by only a handful of people, this is a very polished game, that will keep you busy for hours.

I definitely recommend it, especially since it's nearing it's full launch soon.

Such an amazing game, get it!
