I have never played a game that has made me cry this hard. Then I played solstice and cried twice as hard.
Go into this blind, do not watch or read anything about this game until you've played through the whole thing.

Trust me, it's so worth it.

This game is extremely satisfying to play, and to watch. All of the maps are hit-sounded to make you feel like you are not only playing the song, but also that you are preforming the song. Couple that with some great licensed MVs, amazing background videos, and a good selection of note skins, and you have yourself an amazing experience.

Coming from a background of Osu!Mania, StepMania, and Flash Flash Revolution I knew what I was getting myself into, and expected to be able to challenge myself further with the DJMax experience. As far as I can see, the maximum difficulty on free play is equivalent to a High 3* or Low 4* on Osu!Mania. This isn't a bad thing, but proposes a skill ceiling, and a theoretical maximum.

I can recommend this game to anybody that wants to start playing a StepMania style game, and has $60 to burn. It is genuinely a great experience to have, and one that you won't regret dipping into your savings for. If you have the experience to sit you at or above this games skill cap, it is still a worthwhile experience, and feels truly outstanding.

On the upside:
I thoroughly enjoyed my playthrough of We Went Back, and had a blast figuring out the whole puzzle behind this game. While it may be a bit on the short side I still had fun with it! Jumpscares, and spooky atmosphere lurk around every corner, and all the while you have to collect puzzle pieces to escape the station.

On the downside:
We Went Back is a walking simulator that hits you with cheap jumpscares, , low framerates, bugs, and some clunky controls to boot. While this game is beautiful, and very fun to play, it's only fun for 30 minutes to an hour. There is no replay value to this experience.

Spoilers: I really love how this game time loops similar to Kojima Productions' P.T. The loop always manages to catch you off guard even though you would be expecting it walking in such a large circle. The clever hiding spots of the different objects needed to complete the game really had me looking for a good while!

While some reviewers claim this game can take anywhere from 30 - 60 minutes to complete, if you have experience playing lots of Horror games, and are able to understand some pretty basic puzzles, you should have no issue completing this game in 20 - 30 minutes.

In conclusion: This game is definitely good, but not the best it could be. I really enjoyed it for 20 minutes, but that's about all you can really get out of this game. Would recommend this title to anyone who wants a quick, and fun horror experience.
