It's stupid really. Humour that's really too low-brow, cartoon style explosions, with equally done up stereotypes, Borderlands games really appeal to people just looking for the laugh.
But this is, funnily enough, a really solid game. Halo meets Diablo is one way to put it but in the end, it's a great A-RPG with awesome writing to match.
The second is leaps and bounds ahead of the first, so if you're new, this is the one I recommend. But honestly, it'll leave you wanting more either way...
