The most expensive demo at the time.

Jokes aside, this game is a prologue to The Phantom Pain, and sort of a tech demo on how TPP would play out. You play a one hour level, then something happens I will not spoil. However there is still some content some side ops, and two special levels called DeJa Vu where you remember events of Metal Gear Solid, and Jamais Vu, where you play as Raiden, also GZ is needed to 100% TPP, as you can transfer what you did in GZ to TPP. Thats what this game really is, my advice is get it on sale, because it is important to the story.

"No! That is NOT Solid Snake!"

The sequel we all hated and grew to love later on, How this game predicted on what is happening today with the internet is scary. This game is a must play for everyone, and none gamers should know about this too. This is the definition of art in my opinion. I do not want to spoil anything but for the people who beat this, you know what I am talking about.

Unfortunately, The Master Collection of this game is a direct port of the HD Collection, just like my Metal Gear Solid 3 review read that. Its got almost the same issues, however I am glad Konami is fixing that, and I will edit my MGS 3 review after I post this. Konami you are slowly redeeming yourselves and I am happy. Shine again! like how you once were.

"Excellent Snake, age hasnt slowed you down one bit."

Where do I begin? When people talk about the PS1, 2 games come up to my mind, Pepsi-Man, but this isnt about that, the other game is Metal Gear Solid. I love this game, I always will. I find this version better than the Twin Snakes. The original game is great and I love it. Story is amazing, the twists are great, and there was nothing like it at the time.

The Master Collection - I believe this game needs no fan patches, it runs very well, I also love how they included every single version, and love how we were able to load save files for Psycho Mantis (if you know, you know.) This also includes the Integral version of Metal Gear Solid which was only released in Japan at the time with some extra content, and its got the VR Missions as well.

Enjoy.

Operation Intrude N313 -

The first Metal Gear. Might be old, sure. It still is fun, just a small fun 1980s game, where it all started. Also Metal Gear Solid V made this game important, as in the timeline it happens right after MGS 5. A must play.

Outer Heaven -

Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake is a step up from Metal Gear, it came out in the early 90s. Also very important to the story since it is referenced a lot in Metal Gear Solid (1998), and it MGS borrows a lot from this game almost plays out the same. Another must play,

I played this on my PS3 on release. I loved everything about this game. I am glad they made a PC Port. I have a PS4 as well, but I never bought the PS4 version. There was no need to, as it is still playable on PS3. I disliked the 2nd one. However this is about the first one.

However, this game never needed a remake to begin with. As usual time to start with pros and cons.

Pros - Gameplay is satisfying, its a survival horror game mixed with stealth in it, conserve ammo, looting, only attack if needed. The sound design is probably my favorite. The story is not that bad.

Cons - They removed the online mode from PS3. PC port feels buggy.

Overall, if you never played this game. Give it a shot. Enjoy.

--------------------------------------------Kept you waiting, huh?-----------------------------------------------

I will try to be unbiased as possible. This is my number 1 game after all. Also the first game I ever played as a child way back in the PS2 days. I will start with the pros and cons.

The Pros - Looks like nothing was changed or censored. I thought all the historical footage would be removed, but it was not. Game is running smoothly at 60 FPS. Game works fine with a controller.

The Cons - Where the ♥♥♥♥ is the duel mode from PS2 or Snake VS Monkey? Why the hell is it in 720p when konami promised us 1080p from their website. Why is the keyboard controls horrible? Why is the mouse sensitivity so bad?! Also the audio is turned up so high. I'm about to go deaf.

Concerns addressed - People were worried about pressure sensitive buttons being an issue. They took the HD Collection route with the X360. Where you click the left stick for CQC to question and Y to slit someones throat. You also click the left stick to aim, so they did the same thing which is a good thing.

Overall - Buy it if you are a fan and dont mind playing on a controller, and dont want to stick with emulation, I would say hold off until a sale and some mods drop for better mouse and keyboard support also for 1080p or even 4k. Modders always got our back.

Now this is where I will be biased. IM GLAD WE FINALLY GOT A PC PORT AND I CAN PLAY IT!

I played this on release on my console back in the day. I didn't like it at first, Metal Gear Solid is literally my childhood franchise. I love all of them, except for rising. (you can message me and ill explain why)

Fast forward in 2023, I changed my mind. While still incomplete. This is probably one of the best incomplete games you could play. Don't let the word incomplete throw you off. There is a ♥♥♥♥ ton of content in this game. The mechanics are hella fun. Started with Portable Ops, where you manage your base. albeit very basic. You just capture soldiers by dragging them into a truck. Peace Walker expanded upon that, V perfected it.

The open world stealth works very well, to my knowledge there is nothing like it (correct me if im wrong). I love the sandbox of this game, and how the AI works. To give a few example. If you keep sneaking around in night time. Guards will start to wear NVG. If you keep headshotting guards The guards will start wearing helmets, and soon heavy duty armor. They become aware of your actions.

Overall, its a great game. I even hear stories of people not liking the older Metal Gear games they play this one and end up loving 5. It really is a flawed game.

This is the spoiler section:

I love that ending, how it basically ties up MG1 and MG2 the MSX games. Venom Snake has instantly become my 2nd favorite Snake, sorry Solid. Naked Snake of course being my number one.

This collection is great! All 3 games packed in one and remastered. Still kind of holds up today.

Devil May Cry:

"I SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE ONE TO FILL YOUR DARK SOULS WITH LIGHT!"

The original Resident Evil 4 before that got scrapped and made to its own game. Voice Acting is cheesy I love it. Gameplay is very basic but fun. Some missing graphical effects, and some broken audios but nonetheless a solid release! Must play! SOUNDTRACK IS GREAT!

Devil May Cry 2:

"Gun go bang bang bang bang"

This one is easily one of the worst in the series, very boring and bland. Game focuses on gunplay rather than combos. I have played through the whole thing. Check my achievements. Game is still boring and easy as hell! I will give it credit with the soundtrack tho! If you enjoy mindless shooting then this is the game for you.

Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening

"This party is getting crazy! Let's rock!"

If you are coming from the PS2 version do not worry this is not the harder release this is the special edition which made it a bit easier. Easily one of the best in the series. Also the hardest in the series! Yes I find this better than Devil May Cry 5. Gameplay is easily enhanced, wide range of devil arms and guns. So many combos to do. So many styles to do. Introduced the basic 4, Trickster, Swordmaster, Gunmaster and Royal Guard.

Trickster: Good for dodging and easy evasive techniques.
Swordmaster: Go offensive with your sword.
Gunmaster: Devil May Cry 2 but much better.
Royal Guard: Trickster but more advanced.

The soundtrack is easily my favorite in this series, especially Devils Never Cry. Also the first time you play as Vergil. THIS IS A MUST PLAY!

Overall: This collection is worth it alone for DMC 1 and 3. You also get artworks in the menu and the whole soundtrack to listen to.

"Jackpot!"

Stealth action refined.
I decided to play the original, since I am excited to hear about the remake coming out soon. Still a fun game! I love stealth action games, and its up there with Metal Gear Solid. While Metal Gear Solid has the better story, Splinter Cell has better stealth mechanics, of course this is the original game, and it isnt as great as Chaos Theory, but this is still fun to play. Also steam version, please include the 3 missing extra levels...i had to patch them in myself.

The best of the best, used to play the ♥♥♥♥ out of this on my Xbox! Its on my top 3 stealth games along with Metal Gear and Manhunt.

"They don't make them like me anymore"

While Metal Gear has the convoluted story. Manhunt has horror and intense vibes to it. Splinter Cell is more military based. It is very unique with how detailed it is.

Pros:
1- Smooth controls
2- Many ways to approach your mission (Good example the bank mission)
3- Side objectives to do in the middle of the mission.
4- Graphics still look great despite it being an old game.
Cons:
1- Some crashing problems (make sure you disable every single overlay so you can play the game)
2- Some patches are needed to use co-op features.

In general, this is the best the series have to offer. I love the music and god I love Sam Fisher.
