This Game is a blast to play, though I will preface this review warning that there are a large number of players that have been playing this game for years in some cases around 9 if they got in at release as of the time of this review. So regardless of the lack of tags to suggest this I would say that this game is a HARDCORE shooter, The time to kill is fast the game massively rewards head shots and positioning / map knowledge, but the doesn't mean you cant learn the game I joined originally back in 2017 and while I only began to play more often in 2019 the game was not easy to get into but a rewarding experience. For a new player I honestly have to recommend for your sanity expect to die a lot. but that is fine the game is built in a way that doesn't penalise you for dying it will show up on your stats but those don't matter at the end of the day.

When you start out don't buy everything you can right off the bat the game gives balanced weapons as starting gear and while some factions starting weapons for some classes are better than others the medic class of all the factions have incredibly balanced and effective weapons just remember to upgrade your medical applicator to level two as quickly as possible as the basic one revives players at half health whereas every level above revives at full. The systems in the game do reward actions with xp which is in turn used to get the in game currency, would I love stuff to be cheaper yes... is it too expensive no. the barrier the cost of new stuff adds is as much to add a sense of progression outside of level as it gives players less things to worry about early on it allows you to explore new and interesting play styles as you get more experienced with the game as a whole. I would personally recommend just playing the game but if you truly want to grind for currency the medic is the cheapest class for its payoff and can be the best in the large battles, but the engineer is the best at generating xp across a play session.

The game has its moments where it is difficult to have fun but honestly it boils down to choosing your battles if your losing a battle and you aren't having fun try a different one or try a different continent but the most important thing is that the game has a large variety of ways to play try and find the one you can hove fun with whether it be running around as a heavy assault or plinking heads as an infiltrator or even running people over in a flash the game doesn't tell you how to play but if you let the numbers dictate your fun then you'll never enjoy planetside 2.
