Great furry game

This game combined so many things that I love about the spectacle fighter, rhythm, and team fighter genres, all perfectly meshed together in a lovingly-made package. Within the endless buffet of games being made right now, this is the 5-star meal you're looking for.

Unabashed oldschool JRPG gameplay with pretty visuals and excellent voice acting.
Plenty of furries too.

This game throws a huge supply of gameplay modes that create variety in its core satisfying experience as a roguelike, but the game is very rough around the edges. Several of the classes simply don't have the tools to deal with the roguelike nature of the game, and the story is pretty anemic. New characters are quickly introduced and removed before they're given the chance to care about what happens to them. The boss fights will also regularly put you in difficult situations that the game spent no time preparing you for, which is incredibly disappointing in a genre where permadeath is the standard.

Hits all the high notes of the original with less fuss. It's certainly has less content than recent Story of Season games or Stardew Valley, but it is a wonderful game in its simplicity and core design.
