seemed like a good game until I realized every single art asset was AI generated

Extremely basic art hides an extremely deep monster-catching and fusing RPG. The build variety is absurd, with so many different creatures and traits and whatnot

People have gotten too used to being the focus, its kinda nice that we're experiencing someone else's story and we're the mentor helping them along this time. The sixth zone alone sold this story for me. The music and fights have been some of the very best we've gotten so far!

Part of me thinks some of the negativity around this one is based on the player infusion this game got from a certain other big MMORPG

A delightful RPG! Very much inspired by all the great 16-bit era RPG hits, but still it's own thing. The combat is enjoyable, and the game looks and sounds -fantastic.-

The story does leave a few too many threads unanswered for my taste, and the story was more focused in the first half than the second (and it lacks the "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" moment The Messenger has) but part of me thinks that's set up for either later DLC or the next game by this dev, and overall I enjoyed the weird events and whacky characters you meet along the way, particularly once I realized it was more like... an Earthbound story than a Final Fantasy 6 kinda story, if that makes any sense.

I also love the connections this has with The Messenger, particularly if you go for the completionist stuff.

The art style alone would sell this game, it has a distinct vibe that kinda reminds me of adventure time at times, with lots of adorable and strange designs.

But its also an extremely polished, well made roguelike deckbuilder, with a unique cooldown mechanic and a surprisingly engaging story with some interesting twists that can affect future runs. Very high quality overall, I'd say I'm enjoying this even more than I did Monster Train.

Extremely charming and well written, unexpectedly lovable characters and honestly a fun management game, the card game part reminding me of Griftlands

Giving this a "NO" until this company rescinds the Easy Anti Cheat decision. It will not actually block griefers, it only hurts users. VRC refuses to listen to their users.

10 minute queue time only to die 30 seconds in, what a fantastic and fun game! Clearly on the decline population wise with queues like this

The opera scene alone makes this port worth it, but with how much faster and smoother the gameplay is, and these incredible remixes of all the music using real instruments, this is honestly my favorite version of this game, and this game is already a masterpiece on its own.
