Great game, a lot of fun. But I do believe that pyromancers need to be nerfed because it feels like it's the only class I enounter in survival mode and always get wrecked if I am not playing it myself

Fall Guys is basically "Joy, The Game"

It is one of the most fun and refreshing games I have played in a while. It is casual and competitive at the same time. Ideal for playing alone or with friends. There are, however, a few minigames that need changing. Even though I would still 100% recommend this game, these modes are just a pain to play and are not fun.

Perfect Match needs to go. The point of the minigame is remembering pictures and standing at the right platform. This minigame rarely filters anyone. If anyone actually falls down it's because they get unluckily bumped off the damn thing. It is not fun, not challenging, just a pain. Everytime I see this one I know the final is probably going to suck as there will be 12+ people.

Team Tag, Tail Tag and Royal Fumble need immediate fixing. The idea is fun. Hell, it even is kinda fun in this broken state. The main problem, however, is how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ inconsistent the grabbing mechanic is. If a dude with a tail gets knocked down and is helplessly rolling around, you'd think you should easily be able to grab their tail yeah? WRONG. What will happen is you frantically pressing the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ button only to watch the dude get up and go on his merry way. All of this, while the moment you get the tail, someone can just do a Mig 21 style fly-by and absolutely yoink your s**t from 3 meters away. Inconsistent and frustrating.

Rock ‘N’ Roll The objective is simple. You are a part of one of the three teams and your objective is to roll a heavy ball through an obstacle course to the finish line. There is nothing inherently broken or bad about this minigame. There is an exploit though. The last part of the obstacle course is shared by all the players, meaning you can sabotage the other tems. The main problem is, that two to three people are enough to get the ball locked in the corner, which basically means instant loss, as squeezing into the corner and pushing the other way is very very hard. The corners should be round to prevent this.

Oh yeah. And I despise Tip Toe.

Other than that, 10/10 would fall down from the highest floor straight to my death in Hex-A-Gone again.

So, you came here to satisfy that itch for a skateboarding game you've had since Skate 3 huh? Good for you!

Be prepared though, this game is not very similar to Skate 3. First thing you should know is that while Skater XL can be played casually, it will take you a bit of time to learn the basics. This game is objectively harder than Skate 3. There are, however, many tutorials to get you up to pace (inculding the ones included in the game itself). On of the main things about this game that enamor so many people It takes time to actually learn tricks, which is very similar to real life skating. You can bet that you will not be able to do that Switch Hardflip Back Smith first try. This game is the ultimate friend of a skateboarder. Forget Session, THIS is the good stuff.
The most interesting thing about this game is that there are no set animations for tricks. That's right! You can do a simple kickflip in a myriad of different ways. A slow, steezy one or a complete rocket? You can do anything. Thanks to this, each player has their unique recognizable style. Also, there is always something to do. Bored of skating regular? Just do the thing switch! Done all that? Well you can always try to do a manual revert in a line. You can skate realistically or do helicopter bigspins off roofs.
Is it worth the pricetag? Depends. Do you enjoy skateboarding? Do you see yourself stacking a bunch of hours into a skateboarding sandbox game? If the answer is yes, then it is worth it. This game is the best thing I bought in a long time.

PROS:
- every trick is unique
- a large amount of tricks, some of which are only available in SXL
- an insanely dedicated and friendly community (https://discord.gg/VRpxYgWh)
- a learning experience that is similar to real life - difficult but fun
- a crazy amount of mods that can adjust the game to the tiniest details
- mods are easy to install and get working
- you can customize your characters, both male and female models
- you can import your own clothes and skateboard parts
- many, many different community maps to choose from; amazing and big basic maps
- a pretty well executed trick feed for people who are not as well versed in the skate trick terminology (I don't blame you :D)
- intuitive controls using analog sticks
- easy to install multiplayer mod
- a great replay tool which allows you to film your lines however you want

CONS:
- price
- because of Unity, there are a few issues regarding feet clipping through the board on catches
- vanilla settings are frankly pretty bad, requires a mod to adjust for a realistic feeling
- vanilla moon gravity (seriously, install a mod to fix this as soon as you are comfortable with the controls)
- pushing switch STILL looks awkward and unrealistic
- there is still a lot of work to be done when it comes to bowl/vert skating

Still here?
Well, let me give you a few tips. For the best experience with this game, DawgVinci's XXL Mod is a must have (or any mod that allows you to adjust the settings). With the vanilla gravity being as floaty as it is, many of the trailers look a bit strange. It is, however, completely easy to tinker with the settings and get the thing to look real. I know you might not want to mess with the game you just bought but trust me. Spend a bit with vanilla, then change it and you'll see the difference. Some people go as far as to call the modded version Skater XL 2.
To mod the game, please visit the (developer supported) Discord server which I linked in the PROS section, or search for it online if the link is expired. The people running the server and the community as a whole is very helpful and will show you the ropes. As a final bit of advice, let me list a few mods that are wonderful just so you can come back to this and gradually install them.

DawgVinci's XXL Mod
XL Multiplayer (https://skaterxl.mod.io/xl-multiplayer)
XL Graphics (https://skaterxl.mod.io/xlgraphics) - allows you to change many things, eg. create a fisheye lens effect
Sound Mod (https://skaterxl.mod.io/soundmod) - a must have really

Easy to get into, hard to master: The Game

Simple concept, fun to play with friends. But be careful, once you start trying hard for rank... Oh dear. God help you. You won't be getting out.
