Early Access Review
While I understand this game is early access - Randomly resetting peoples worlds with nothing in the log file, is a big issue.

The gameplay concept is fantastic, and I hope they continue. The P2P and client authoritative nature is not great for multiplayer, so you can only play with those you trust. Not a deal-breaker, but could do with improving upon.

The physics system for the building being client authoritative, and seemingly different clients having different ideas of what is structurally sound is a problem. I can build a building, it stands, it's okay for hours, a friend logs in, I move away from the building, it then collapses.

All in all, I was enjoying the game, and I am writing this while upset that I just lost 77 hours of gameplay with my friends (I should've set up automatic backups realistically). It is a good game, but I personally cannot recommend it right now as I know how (myself included) people get really invested into their work.

First off, I'd say this game is fun solo but has some major drawbacks... Now onto some more detail....

First impressions were not good;

After initial login, stuck at "loading", alt +f4, everything fine on second run.
If you pick a name that exists, you have to redo all the customisations.
After the character is created, you have two characters show up, if you're curious like me and click the top one, bam, stuck on loading again, alt+f4, everything is then fine, only one character shows up.

Once you're in-game it's not too bad;
Tutorial is fine, controls are not too bad honestly - As long as you have some basic expectations of an MMO, you'll not find this difficult to adjust to at all.

I then spent the next few hours continuously playing, leveling, crafting, learning the game, questing - I enjoyed myself a lot, enough so that I took no breaks for nearly 6 hours!

At this point I decided to purchase the game for my wife, bring her along, this was when things started going down hill...

Now I had someone else with me, we started having to play differently, more tactically etc because of level gaps.

We started noticing what seemed like mini-zones where mobs would disappear for a while then randomly reappear.

When another character was with me, I started noticing how other players animations are all wrong, as if while the game is at 60FPS, the character animations are more like 18 - 24 fps, really jarring when getting immersed into an rpg.

There seems to be some significant lag spikes, now I don't know if the team is struggling for server hardware (with a game like this they could likely find GSP's that would actually sponsor their project and provide heavily discounted or free hardware if that was the case) or if their networking code is severely lacking (from the perspective of someone who spent 8 years writing networking code for popular MMO emulators, it's easy to get it wrong - But not too hard once you get the hang of it, good luck if it's this, it'll come), or if there main server game loop is just single threaded so every time something major happens, the whole thing grinds to a halt - Only the developers know the answer to that.

As there is still no way to give neutral reviews, I'll have to ere towards negative - If this is ever on sale at < £8, I'd say buy it, play alone, and have a good few hours worth of solo fun - If you like PvP, this game is likely going to be great for you as you'll barely notice the other issues (Like it being REALLY hard to find flax as a newbie with no knowledge).

Overall I'd say the game is fun, but for 2 years work, I feel that this game will be massively outdated or supersceded by a rival long before it reaches the point it's polished enough to provide a proper immersive rpg feel.

If you're looking for a proper immersive role playing game to play with friends and family - It has YEARS to go at their current pace.
