I didn't know I needed this game, but now that I know I need it, I am glad I have it.

Don't underestimate cats!

Simply put, this game is not overrated. Anything positive I type will only be a mere echo of everyone else's reviews.
So, just play it. It's short, sweet, adventurous, and it will tug your heart strings.

The only complaints from many of the critics reviewing this game are about how it isn't much different than Arkham City. That complaint, to me, is one of idiocy. Arkham City was perfect, so instead of attempting to alter perfection, the developers kept everything good about Arkham City and improved upon it.

This game features a younger, harder Batman with a bigger temper. The storyline is much darker in a way that feels more akin to the Dark Knight movies while still maintaining the Arkham atmosphere. The combat feels smoother, faster, but mostly the same (which is good). The predator sections haven't changed at all (they didn't need to).

Detective mode is now more interesting than Arkham City's. You now analyze clues at crime scenes in order to reconstruct crimes from start to finish. Also, there's no longer the need to run around with detective mode on through extended portions of the game in order to follow trails.

As far as graphics go, the game at ultra settings are a huge leap over Arkham City--especially utilizing all the Nvidia-exclusive graphics technologies. The game also doesn't have the optimization issues that Arkham City had, so it runs at 60fps stable at ultra.

In conclusion, if you enjoy the previous Arkham games, you'll enjoy this one just as much, if not more.

This game doesn't hold your hand like most modern games, it teaches you how to play through experience instead. It will kick your ass time and time again. Then you'll pick your ass up and show your gratitude for the very gracious and generous ass whooping. It's very challenging and not in an unfair way. It's punishes you when you mess up and teaches you to learn from your mistakes. There's no half-assing it. Be perfect or parish.
