Feels like a Men of War game made purely off of descriptions from memory. Many missing keys on the action bars for squads all this time after release, asking the squads to take cover is more of a gamble than ever with parts of the squad splitting up to go 50-100 yards from where I told the squad to take cover. Leaving many dead. Artillery guns of all types slew, reload and fire at an absurd rate with insane accuracy, logistics are a pain in the ass. Terrible game.

Edit 3: New weapons, new capabilities. Still using them in a dog crate, devs are going to drive this game into the dirt

Edit 2: They are chipping away, matches are still ending within the first 2-3 mins because the maps are dog crates with modern weaponry. Every map 9.7+ at least needs to go up ~5x in size because it is currently bordering on unplayable

Edit: They gave me a cute cat picture and asked for a review. Was a nice try and I will give credit that a lot of the issues have been resolved. Figure out these packed knife fight maps, objectives being not worth a damn, team participation rewards and I will probably edit this back to a recommendation.

Repair costs are absurd and just a way to punish you for attempting to have fun at this point. You will buy GE to then convert to SL because that is what they want, if you don't you can leave for all they care.

Let me start this with I will be updating this after the end of War 102.

I played war 99 with a group of friends and found we all loved the game, unfortunately though the decay mechanic was totally unbearable after a while and the game turned in to a second job of just trying to keep the decay at bay. Eventually we lost everything when the 5 of us were busy for a day on the weekend. Literally everything gone in just a day.

I came back for War 102 as I saw we had a lot of changes for decay and I have been playing it rather cautiously expecting to see the decay get out of hand again and to just quit.

At this point I am pretty convinced it is actually resolved and am very excited for it. I hope it remains this way, in it's current form and with how the decay appears to be adjusted it gets a resounding recommendation from me.

Edit: The game is much better than it was, community is still an egregious pain in the ass though and unless you have a group big enough to always have someone at a facility you have built other players will swoop in and take everything from you.

If you pick it up revert to 1.7 until the current branch is back to the level of quality the game was at in 1.7. I used to recommend this as a must have VR game and until this is resolved I will no longer recommend this to anyone not using a Quest standalone. I will update this if they get it together but seeing the 1.6 and 1.7 game play on the trailers really ticked me off, it no longer represents the game at all and feels disingenuous.

This is the gold standard in remakes, just the original but MUCH better looking sounding and running this is all I have ever wanted from remakes. Give me 03-05 games remade like this for the next year or maybe even two and I will be content,

I have never been more disappointed with an early access game, started off promising then was rushed out the door with nearly no content. "Make your own content." does not apply to this as there is no way to do so. Avoid at all costs and get anything else.

Great game and a great active dev team paying attention to their community to make the best product they can.
