This is probably the most confusing reception to a game I have ever seen. I have never actually written a review but this seems like it would be worth it. I have played in 1 alpha and all betas so I have many more hours then steam lists.

TLDR: A lot of people do not like peer to peer and microtransactions but the game is still great. Peer to peer still sucks ♥♥♥♥ though.

I would like to preface, if you complain about balance, about moves, about a certain character all I can say is you need to get good. If you have some problem with the balance you really do not understand the game enough to be complaining. Balance and understanding balance in fighting games is extremely hard. Esspecially for people who only have .1-25 hours with this game. There is obviously balancing to be done but that happens in literally every single game that reqires it. It will never be perfect.

Microtransactions (as usual) are mostly cosmetic, and apply to in game feats for the 4v4 modes which are not supposed to be balanced they are supposed to be fun and have hilarious moments happen. Wanna blow up 4 people with an off map catapult? Great. It's not in Duels or Brawls where the balance should really matter. I don't care if your character glows green or has cool armor either. You pay for it or you dont and it doesn't matter where is should matter.

If you want 4v4 to work you have to strictly match feats and gear level. Make buffs very rare and centrally placed. Killing an enemy should matter a lot more. Rezurecting should be harder. Try and make fights more 2v2-2v2 then 4v4. Game is not built around teamfights.

Peer to Peer is really the only problem I can see besides release day server blues. Ubisoft either needs to come up with some amazing way to reduce a lot of connection issues or they need to make servers that can filter high ping users. It has always been known that if you have a ♥♥♥♥ internet connection you're gonna have a ♥♥♥♥ online experiance.

Cons:
-Peer to Peer
-Early Balance
-Janky 4v4 rules and buff placement
-Clarity of interface needs some work

Pros:
-Fun and engaging combat
-Beautiful scenery (besides the fire) and character models
-interesting dynamic for a fighting game
-Combat interface is unique and still simple
-Not innovative or particularly good single player but man does it look good. (still a pro because this game is obviously not about the campaign)

Another thing for the community to consider is that Ubi is a business. They are losing business from people wanting servers or not buying microtransactions. If they do not act reletively quickly then ubisoft will either change something or lose money on for honor. There is a cost to making it and keeping it updated and if the devs or however they structured it do not reach that goal then hopefully these practices and lessons will be learned. Greed is a more powerful motivator then mob demands.
