Not played many bullet hell games, but when me and my friends were screaming in the emerald zone I knew this game was peak. Best played with friends.

A mess of a game at launch but I can’t leave a negative review because I believe in the longevity of this project. If Paladins can have a consistent playerbase for years so can this, Gigantic will see its golden age soon.

That said I recommend this game with the caveat of ‘wait for some fixes if you’re easily frustrated’. My time in the game is evidence that I haven’t gone to matchmaking but it’s obvious from the reviews and online sentiment that it is spotty at best. As well, due to some baffling decision I don’t think I will ever understand, code is executed on frames instead of utilizing a timing system. This means that frame rate changes will break the game. This seems fine on the surface until you realize that Gigantic’s frame target is an absolute travesty of 56/57fps. If your monitor doesn’t have freesync this’ll be a pain in the ass on in multiple way.

From the bot matches I’ve played this game plays like a dream. The movement is satisfying, the characters feel unique and varied, the art style is fun to look at. With server fixes and a frame bump this game could generate a lot of buzz for itself.

From the match lengths so far and what I’ve seen online this is a good short session game to play with friends.

This game is... okay. I played a little bit of it and discovered it wasn't to my liking. Technically, its great. Visually, its optimized but nice. There's nothing BAD I can really say about it, aside from slightly confusing menus. That being said, however, it just isn't MY type of game.
I'm not one to give games a definite rating, but rather outline broad points that may or may not show off the game as to someone's liking.

You might like this game if you like:
-FPS games with very few RPG elements mixed in
-Stealth games
-Objective-based games
-A variety of game types

You might NOT like this game if you don't like:
-Games revolving around a single objective per mission
-Episodic missions
