Guess I'm going against the majority opinion here.
Honestly, I had a lot of fun playing this. Granted, I set the bar pretty low because it's an early access game and I am a bit biased since I played NMRIH1 and had many fun memories in that game.

Lets start with the GOOD:
The atmosphere was amazing! I only had two runs so far. First one ended when I died at the power plant, second time was when the game crashed at the power plant, but it was very enjoyable nonetheless. I got jumpscared a few times and I really did fear for my life constantly.

The setting with 8 players spawning in different locations and meeting in the middle is awesome as well! I found it hilarious that a random dude who I never met before broke into the church attic with me to steal guns and ammo while simultaneously questioning everything from how the flashlights work to the puzzle that I had to figure out to get electricity flowing, or how we are all screaming about how we were all cooked when we all ran out of ammo and only had to use our crappy pipes which do no damage whatsoever. My point is, teamwork makes the dream work, and by golly you're gonna need it.

There's a lot of zombies. Like, A LOT of zombies. This is what I wanted in a game like this, to fight the undead horde with my friends with everything I've got. They've hit that nail on the head pretty well there.

Which brings me to the BAD:
Oh boy. There's a lot of bad in this game...
BUGS, BUGS, BUGS... There's probably more bugs in here than every "bugs" line in every Loony Toons show put together. From floating head models, to guns not reloading properly, to zombies just giving you the crackhead stare while they refuse to take damage from your crappy weapon. I can't believe I'm saying it, but even Bethesda's creations doesn't have as many bugs as this game.

There is one map. Yep. One map. The powerplant map. This isn't as big a gripe to me personally, but I noticed how a lot of people did not like it one bit. Yes, the game is replayable, but in the long run, one map is not going to cut it. I can see the Steam workshop really being the true gem to this game if it were to have it.

Melee is practically useless. Your best friend is going to be any gun you can get your greedy little hands on, but don't use it too much because ammo is like gold, and I don't think a lot of people understand that yet. However, it's hard NOT to use your gun when it takes at least 4 swings to take down a regular zombie, and that's with a heavy wrench, not the dreaded lead pipe.

Zombies are way too strong, especially the red eyed (RED) zombies. I personally would get rid of the RED zombies all together. They're in the way and ruin the experience. I had no fun taking them on as they are just sponges to any damage you give it. There are also the fast zombies which are scary, but unlike the RED zombies, you can actually take them on. Either nerf the zombies or buff melee weapons.

No single-player. Not a big one, but if you're looking to play this by yourself or offline, you might want to get Left 4 Dead 2 or NMRIH1 (which is free).

So why did I give it a thumbs up?
Despite all the bugs, all the crashes, all the unfinished features, all the negative comments and reviews, I still enjoyed this game. Above all else, I want to see this game succeed. I know it has the potential to do it, but this game is not ready to be marketed yet, even at early access. I'm refunding this because this is not worth $30 at this stage and if this game gets abandoned, I don't want my money sunken in. I will re-purchase this game if it gets the work it deserves and if it is properly built. For now though, stay away from this game and keep your hard earned money for the time being.

It's a bit janky, but the concept is definitely there. Gameplay is very fun and intriguing and the art style of this game really puts the cherry on top!

This game was good. Not great, but not bad either.

I'd like to start off with the good. The details and aesthetics in this game are just amazing. Every time I look at the game, I just like to stare at my screen because of how gorgeous it all looks. The mood is depressing, but hopeful. It's the moment where Warsaw finally rises against its invaders. The combat is (somewhat) engaging and it requires some thinking and a good bit of luck. There's a lot of strategy in this game too, where you'll have to manage and disperse supplies to certain areas. Do you want to build a new gun that could possibly be better than your former weapon and do great amounts of damage or do you want to divert it in a certain district for that place to hold off for maybe an extra few days?

The music in this game was great as well. I could listen to the background music in this game for hours because of how well it sounds.

The characters in this are probably the reason why I stayed hooked to this game. They all have their own unique talents and personalities that got me through 'til the end of the Uprising and if you survive it with those characters, you'll learn what will happen to them after the Uprising.

The bad.
It's repetitive. Doing the same thing over and over again gets quite tiring and boring. But I could sweep that all aside for the biggest point: The ending wasn't really that satisfying. [SPOILERS] -> When you finish the game after 63 days, the actual amount of days the Uprising lasts, it just says that the Uprising dies down and they sign a treaty of capitulation, then the characters stories are told, and then it take you back to the menu.
This felt bittersweet. "That's it?" I wish they could have put in just a little bit more than just that. I was way more intrigued, interested and excited in this game at the beginning than I was at the end.

Overall, it's not great, but it's not bad either. If you really want this game, I would suggest you wait for a sale on it or get it with the Humble Bundle Stand For Ukraine pack.

This is one of the greatest, if not the best Civil War game I have ever played.

This definitely opens your mind and eyes to what the civil war truly is and you can devise your own strategies however you'd like, limited only by imagination.

While this is in early access, I highly recommend buying this even while it's still in it. The devs have been hard at work on this and are regularly updating it.

The learning curve in this game is very steep and it takes a good bit of time to get used to and there isn't really a tutorial to help you, so you're going to have to learn this game by trial and error and learn the mechanics by trying them out yourself. Once you know the ropes of it, it's highly addicting and fun.

I've spent whole days just playing and completing a campaign from the armies I've built, the armadas I shaped up, the trains I spent time making railroads for to get from one point to another, the forts I've made to slow down the enemy and the many, many supply depots I've constructed for my men so they don't starve, it makes you feel connected to all of it.

I love seeing how you build up an army and put random generals in and seeing them in action. You watch how they grow into legendary masterminds or defamed and press-hated (and then replaced). There's hundreds of Generals to choose from, each with their own unique portraits and small bio, which I love!

There are many paths you can take your country down upon too, you can even make the French and British join if you give them enough subsidies and stuff. You can be an industrial powerhouse making a crap ton of modern ironclads, rifles and cannon, you can put subsidies into agriculture, make cash craps and be a breadbasket for the whole world, and/or you can tax the living hell out of everyone in your country to fund your war (they won't be happy, but who cares, what're they gonna do, revolt?)

All in all, this game is definitely worth its price tag. It has major replayability and you'll learn a lot of Civil War history just by playing this game. See you on the battlefield, General!

It's not a DLC. It just feels like a quick money grab.

I was waiting a few weeks since it was announced, and was eager to play it. I was always hyped for a new one to drop at a moments notice, but this isn't what I was expecting.
It's just... so... BORING.
This DLC just feels rushed, and it doesn't add much of anything really. You barely notice any change in gameplay. Not only that, but the paths you choose force you to side with one of the major nations, which is something I'm not fond of doing (especially since I play single player most of the time)

Yeah, the new voices and generals are cool, but it just feels so generic. It doesn't have the same feel as Waking the Tiger or La Resistance. I suggest for you to buy it if you play hours upon hours of HOI IV, if not, just stay away.
There's literally mods in the workshop that does better than this by far.
