OMG, that was a RUSH!!

I don't generally write reviews, but after playing this game I felt a need to. Tango Gameworks have well and truly outdone themselves here, this is the first game in a long time that I have felt drawn to keep playing, it's story is engaging and the gameplay is spectacular. Once those credits rolled at about 12 hours into my play-through I had feelings of joy for having just beat the best game I have played in years and sadness that my Journey with Chai and friends had unfortunately come to an end.

This game has a solid chance of taking away Game of the Year, even in a year where we are expecting some of the biggest game-changers of the gaming industry to release with competition like Diablo IV, Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Spider-Man 2, Starfield, Kerbal Space Program 2, Hollow Knight: Silksong, etc.

I hope this is just the beginning, I hope that Tango has managed to give other game studios the confidence they need to start being more adventurous in their exploration of the gaming world. I hope this isn't the last time we see a AAA studio step out of their comfort zone to provide gamers with a truly exceptional experience, rather than just a remake or cookie cutter version of a tried and tested IP.

If you haven't already played Hi-Fi Rush, what are you waiting for? Don't miss out on this one!

This game sparked a gaming curiosity and competitiveness in me that I haven't had in a long time. This game felt both satisfying and fluid, while also managing to be extremely challenging. While the game only has 20 levels and gameplay is really simple, it managed to keep me entertained and on the edge of my seat for around 10 hours with a sense of accomplishment that no other game in my recent memory has given me.

I will definitely be looking more into the FPS > Precision Platformer genre as I believe this game has given me a new favorite after Roguelike/Roguelite.

I look forward to potential future updates that might add new levels (hopefully with a different visual style), and new abilities that push this game further.
