In its presentation, TEKKEN has never looked or sounded this good. The character models all look fantastic, the gameplay is superb, the single player is fun as heck, and customization is pretty deep and is only really limited by your imagination.

That said, it isn’t perfect. Online matches still sometimes feel a little off. With it being the vanilla version, there are some weird interactions like some buggy hitboxes. Sometimes moves will hit opponents behind you, which is insane, or Rage Arts just pass through your opponent completely. Over time, these things might get ironed out but for now, TEKKEN 8 is still a blast to play.

That said, the monetization feels a little dishonest. In the past, the season pass always included the new stages. This has always been the case since TEKKEN 7, and during the Lidia's launch in TEKKEN 8 where the Beach stage was part of the pass. The new stage that launched with Heihachi is now sold separately for $5. It's a small amount, but it wasn't communicated with us that it was a separate purchase.

WIth all these cosmetics being sold to us, the characters should really be free. Anything that can impact gameplay should be free. The monetization of Overwatch 2 is more fair than TEKKEN 8. If a game with the most criticized monetization models is better than a fighting game's, then something needs to change.

EDIT: So they reverted the map/stage monetization. This shows that they're listening. While the monetization still isn't fantastic, it at least isn't affecting gameplay. I will keep supporting TEKKEN 8.
