Victory at Sea is a sandboxy WWII naval game where you sink enemy ships, get xp+money to unlock and buy better ships for your fleet, disrupt enemy supply lines, take over enemy ports, and help win WWII.

The game has 3 campaign maps; the Atlantic where you can play as the US/UK/Germans,
the Mediterranean where you can only play as the US/UK, and the Pacific with US/UK/Japan.

It's pretty fun and the combat system is simplified enough that people that's new to naval warfare like me could have fun.

One caveat of this game is that once you fill up your fleet with battleships and carriers, there's not much the computer could throw at you that you couldn't avoid or recover from easily, even on expert difficulty. I happen to like this type of difficulty curve, but it might turn off people who like high difficulties.

Didn't like either the narrator or the soundtrack of this game, but still felt that the game is somewhat decent and worth it to play. Combat starts off boring but the various different weapons you get along the way really opens up the gameplay. A building you unlock halfway through the game acts as a difficulty slider, giving the monsters various strengths such as being faster, hitting harder, etc. This really made the combat more fun. I didn't feel that the story was anything special, but kinda liked the choice in the end.

Even if I didn't like the main draw of the game, it's still decent enough. Just try it, chances are that you'll like this game much more than I did.

The whole game's just doing repetitive fetchquests.
But it was like, less boring than Skyrim.

11/10 - would fetchquest again
