Runs great, plays great, servers stable. The hardest part of the game is figuring out how to play with friends.

If you didnt play the board game previously you will have a bad time. it does a terrible job explaining the rules, mechanics, and expectations. You can do everything at your disposal out the gate and fail the first encounter easily just by running out of cards to play. If you want a challenging tactical RPG youll be better off with Darkest Dungeon

If you have played DnD and frequent the oddly satisfying subreddit, you will enjoy this game.

Playing this game is the best thing that you can do for democracy even though its an election year

This game will constantly surprise you with how much it gives you and how much it does right. If your only exposure to the characters is through the MCU then you might think the writing for the characters is a bit hammy, but its spot on comic accurate for the most part. The combat is addictive and fun and youll constantly be wanting for more fights.

The only gripe ive had is that the models for the men in the game are rigged and animated weirdly. They all look like theyre wearing fake muscle suits that are deforming weirdly as they move or strike unnatural "relaxing" poses. Also the costumes for male characters all seem like they were designed by the same person with a skin tight clothing and submissive hipster kink.

The visuals are nice. The voice acting isnt terrible. The dubbing is solid if thats your bag. The characters are a bit tropey, but its a jrpg so thats what youre signing up for.

The most amount of your time in these games though is spent in combat, and combat feels super clunky because of huge delays after any action. It's an intentional design choice because they give you an "overlimit" ability to trigger every now and then that removes all delay. So most of the time it feels like youre playing in molasses. It might as well be turn based. You also hit a grind wall very early (i was about 5 hours in) where it throws a level 20 boss at you that 2-3 shots a party member and is super fast. If youve done every fight along the way to that encounter you might be level 12 or 13 with a handful of healing items. It's a lot like running into the tiger boss in Secret of Mana, and just as annoying.

JRPGs are usually time sinks, but this is shaping up to be the the worst kind of "disrespect your time" kind of time sink as opposed to "bury you in all kinds of stuff to do" time sink. If you know what youre about and this sounds like your thing, go for it, but there are plenty of games that just do all this better.

The game needs polish like all multiplayer games at launch. Ii wont pretend otherwise. But man is it fun. Give it a month or so passed release and it should be gold.

This game wants to be GTA in the streets of Japan, until a fight breaks out then it wants to be a brawler beat-em-up, until a boss fight happens then it wants to be tekken? It wants to be a serious crime family drama, until you hit a side quest then it wants to be a slapstick comedy?!

This game is bizarre and amazing! Its a super detailed and immersing period piece for 1980s japan. You will constantly be exclaiming "WTF?! That was awesome!" from start to finish. I seriously cant wait to dive into the rest of the series.
