After about a week of normal play, my PvP now fails matchmaking 100% of the time. This has gone on for 5 days. Support gave me a Chat GPT answer of "this bug report probably covers it" (It didn't) and closed the ticket immediately.

All suggested fixes have failed (verifying game files, turning off crossplay, reinstalling).

Aside from the technical issues and abysmal customer support, the game has multiple currencies, including for unlocking fighter perks. After a week of play doing all challenges (including grinding all available characters to level 5 and taking advantage of an event that gave out fighter curency) I have managed to unlock all of two characters.

The developers lock some content behind fighters being unlocked, so some branches of PvE content is locked unless you have a specific character or costume for a character.

PvE has "missions" for each stage. One of these missions on every single stage is to play with another person.

PvE progression is locked behind the average level of colored gems associated with a particular rift. These can only be leveled through crates. This means randomly. You get one crate per stage, then one crate per daily, which is usually about 5ish on one specific rift. Some of these dailies will choose stages locked behind characters or costumes.

There are daily and weekly challenges, as well as event challenges. Like rifts, some of these are locked behind specific requirements that free players may not be able to fulfill. Additionally, some of these are also locked behind having the battle pass unlocked.

These factors combine to create a situation where your'e driven to unlock specific characters with your extremely precious fighter points because of rift requirements or daily/weekly challenges if you have any hope to grind through the battle pass.

The entire game is engineered to frustrate you into paying for their premium currency, which can be used to buy basically everything you'd be grinding for as a free player, including the battle pass, characters, costumes and account things like profile pics and the background behind your fighter.

Due to the bugs, lack of customer support, and the design choices made to further the extreme monetization, I cannot recommend the game in its current state.

Taking the standard Survival Horror genre and turning it up on its head, Viscea Cleanup Detail is an interesting take on the imagined effort that people have to put in to clean up after all the damage you've done while playing hero.

Despite how tedious and annoying cleaning is in real life, VCD has successfully made a game that makes cleaning and doing paperwork seem fun.
