I wanted to like this game but ultimately bad controls, areas where you randomly get stuck on some object, teleporting zombies being frustrating and Act 4's explosions everywhere got the better of me and I just figured I'm gonna have a better time playing a better VR game.

Also, set the grip activator to be 0.10 instead of 0.80. That helped me dramatically.

Well, now I know why everyone praises PlatinumGames' combat and how this game is capable of running on the Nintendo Wii U.

Jokes aside, was somewhat left down by not having any control over the character other than the jumping, but if this is some kind of a teaser for Bayonetta 1 to come out on Steam, I'm all up for it.

It's not even the second half of this year, and I think we've already got the GOTY 2017 on our hands. Amazing, memorable soundtrack composed by Keiichi Okabe, amazing story filled with bittersweet sidequests and 26 endings (5 of which are major) written and directed by Yoko Taro, sensitive and fluid combat crafted by Platinum Games, the team whose combat work can be seen behind the likes of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and whose respect for NieR can be seen in this very title.

The PC port is kind of questionable, however Kaldaien's FAR (Fix Automata Resolution) will help overcome its limitations. (You can turn down global illumination to improve performance with little to no difference in visual quality; as well as increase the quality of godrays and bloom with the included fix by Durante) The former has compatibility for graphics injectors like ReShade which will help if you're not a fan of the game's grayish colors and want some vibrance to them. I personally used the Cinematic ReShade. For that to work with the former, I had to rename its dxgi as ReShade64 and ensured the paths the mod looks for the presets from match mine.

Using a controller is highly recommended. If you're like me and you end up using Sony's DualShock 4, you might want to get the DS4 Button Prompts -mod whose ui -folder you'll place within the game's data -folder. While there's no official support for DualShock 4, you can utilize Steam Controller Configurator for it (if you don't like Big Picture Mode, just disable it from under [Steam > Settings > In-Game]), or get some unofficial third party programs like DS4Windows to do the job for you.

Most port stuff can be looked up here though, including workarounds for the 60 FPS cap for example: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Nier:_Automata

I ended up having one crash out of the 53 hours I placed in this title. Framerate was mostly 60, with dips to 45-60 in the most vegetated areas. I'm on i5-2500K, GTX 970 (using WHQL 378.66 -driver), 16 GB of RAM.

This game has a demo on PS4, so if you happen to own one of those, you should give it a spin and see if it's to your liking. The game doesn't emphasize enough how important it is for you to replay the game: ending A is only the beginning; ending E is something special for you to experience.
