To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Dark Souls. The lore is extremely cryptic, and without a solid grasp of the world around you most of the lore will go over a typical player’s head. There’s also Dark Soul's nihilistic outlook on humanity and how people try to maintain some type of purpose even though they usually get a dark outcome. Which is deftly woven into the games- the lore draws heavily from Vaati Vidya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just sad- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Dark Souls truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the sadness of Siegmeyer's questline, which itself is a metaphor for how even though we can prolong the invetiable, it is useless to. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Hidetaka Miyazaki's genius wit unfolds itself on their television/computer screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂

And yes, by the way, I DO have a Soul of Cinder tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎

A perfect example of a game where the gunplay and movement feels good, but the content doesn't.
