Good god this is the exact kind of ♥♥♥♥ I was craving.
Honestly beautiful trip of writing and surrealism. A lot of assumptions in this area are all about untethered and unconnected madness. Weird for weirds sake. There is that of course in here but it's handled better than a run of the mill "random" thing.
There's a depth to it that makes me feel emotions.
It's funny. Beautiful. It's what you like if you like this kind of thing but even if you don't give the animations a watch. See if the world fits you. Experience something that isn't made for your mode of thinking.
Experience Zen detachment from the burden of having to understand everything.

Music is top notch. It's art meeting art and Oliver Buckland's sound with Joel G imagery would be worth the price tag but this just WORKS as a game too
They could have gone short with it. Made it more visual novel. But this is a labor of love and depth and I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ecstatic for chapter two.

Good.
Honestly, more than good though. A really beautiful story, very well written, and a source of catharsis in its theme and message that I was not prepared enough for

This game is a rather simple one, with a fair amount of strategy that you can deal with if you really want to get through certain encounters, however even the best strategy can't help you sometimes when the god of Roguelikes is against you.

The graphics themselves, like many indie games today, are pixel, classic game inspired. However in my opinion I found that the visuals lean from being nostalgic to being too simplistic and boring for my tastes, with no updated sprites for different weapon and armor equips, the visuals never update themselves and it will look the same throughout the game.

The music it what I have the biggest problem with. Its sharp, chiptune style is nice for the first ten seconds of listening to it. But with no volume control, and loops of songs under a minute or two long, the harsh tones of the classic songs quickly drill into your ear until exhaustion.

Overall it a fun game, with problems certainly, but redeemable by a relatively good replay value through randomized quests and encounters, and multiple party makeups and loot options
