Early Access Review
as someone who has 2.578 hours in smite 1 on the steam launcher and probably another 2000 before it came to steam i can say that smite 2 is a definite upgrade. it's no where near perfect yet. many gods still need to be put back in the game but the gameplay is smoother, the ui in better, it's just all round better than smite 1. the 1 BIG downside however is there is no community in-game. there are no profiles yet, there's no whisper system. can can't talk to friends. the only interaction you have is a 30 second post game lobby. that part is atrocious but the second they fix that it'll be a amazing game

Early Access Review
i was one of the early backers. they did NOT deliver what they promised, the biggest claim was it was going to be the spiritual successor to starcraft. This is NOT that, everything is super cartoony, the art style is at most the RTS equivalent of fortnite which isn't bad per se, but it is really really bad if you want to follow up on the dark gritty design people loves starcraft for. Everything seems super bland, and they even ask people who paid several HUNDREDS on Early acces to pay for an extra hero and cosmetics like colours and a pet etc. it's disgusting really. They pulled over 40 million USD in funds yet indie devs do far better with much less.

My personal Favorite franchise of all times. And that's something i'm not just throwing out there because there are many franchises I've been playing for months, years, some even decades, literally. I started with MH 1 on playstation 2, which was back in 2004-2005 ? something like that. I played all the ones i could get my hand and then all the monster hunter freedom/unite/g stuff on the psp, even played the japan only releases with some special patch that (badly) translated it to english and i finished that too. then i got a wii just to play the release there. I even did some translate magic to play the chinese MH frontier version. And all of it was worth my time and this again is very much worth the hours, even more than any of the games before.

The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is the best so far, and there's so many weapons and playstyles to choose from. standard retail price is already worth it but both the base game and the expansion go on sale very regularly.

the shortest simplest way to explain the game is basically dark souls before dark souls was a thing, but instead of semi eldritch horrors, it's fantasy creatures and dragons. a far better combat system that's either even slower than dark souls or much faster depending on your weapon choice. and LOTS more crafting, customisability and cosmetics. Despite this being one of the newest and biggest games in the franchise it's more beginner friendly than any of the games before while still having an endgame that will kick the ass of very seasoned hunters.
