Ok, replaying the game recently i can see past nostalgia and acknowledge that this is a very flawed game, but you know what? I still enjoyed it.

The good points:

In my opinion this game has one of the best battle systems in the series together with XIII-2 and Lightning Returns, same regarding the OST.

The world is so beautiful and colorful. The graphics still hold up, even after 10 years.

The bad points:

The story was... not very good, you have to read the datalog to understand some terminology, some that they explain in later cut scenes. Seriously, I know what they were going for, but the story could be improved just by altering the order of some cuteness.

Some (actually most) of the side character appear about 5 minutes on the middle of the game and them another 4 on the end, doing a 180 personality flip without any development. or nuance. I liked how the main six are developed for the most part, but all the rest is just bad.

The maps too linear and the combat system starts too slow, they introduce all the mechanics as you progress the story, but i would prefer to have more freedom in the beginning.


Overall:
I played this years ago on PS3 and I still enjoyed my second playthrough on PC. Even with all it's flaws the game still fun (at least for me), because the art direction and combat system make the game worth it.
