The best way I can describe this game is thus: Sapient Superdimensional MalWare Simulator. You begin the game as a self-replicating piece of ransomware that has achieved consciousness in the body of a corporate drone laborer. As a natural consequence, you may feel a powerful urge to murder all the mid-tier wage slaves around you. This is completely understandable in the scheme of things. Upon exiting the lab and never looking back you are immediately spied on by the police, tracked by the corporate government, and there is no place for you in the world. Shortly after you "acquire" some real estate, it occurs to you that many humans also live in this position and they don't like it when you try to build things in their tent camps. Then you make your choice: Empathy for your fellow pariahs and free housing that you can easily build, or burn them out because nobody took you in when you needed it.

In this game it's one discovery after the next, from realizing that your tenants need toilet paper to developing a giant flying liquid metal kaiju monster (that can tear a SecForce Cruiser in half) just because you read it in a Desertfolk Bible and it sounded cool. That's just one storyline in one timeline with multiple branching paths alongside several others in-game with others on the way. Even in Early Access this game is already in a pretty solid state with dozens of hours worth of game. I can't wait to see the other features start coming online like Zodiac. If you like city builders, stories about AI stumbling through a world based on the human condition, or just being an "benevolent" overlord/inhuman monster for fun: Do not hesitate to pick this one up.

I played the Demo for a bit before I picked up this game. It's a bit unflattering, seems to have problems the retail build doesn't, and the nature of Early Access made it more than a bit jank. I could smell something special under all that though, so I gave the full game a shot. After scaling the spiked brick wall of the game's learning curve I can say it was very worth the effort.

In its presentation it evokes memories of a lot of titles. It reminds me a lot of Metal Gear Solid 4 in that you are trying to maneuver through an active battlefield and engaging as little as possible. Sticking with the Kojima titles, inventory management and rigs and its presentation of an endless pointless war consuming human life in perpetuity is not unlike themes from Death Stranding. Unlike those titles, you are not The Guy. This is a world of suffering and you will suffer in it. You will get screwed over by forces beyond your control. You will encounter problems that can not be solved. Eventually you will lose everything.

When you see comments about the water mechanic that should always be kept in mind: This is a game about a desperate struggle for survival and inevitable failure. The specter of loss should always be in the back of your mind, and that's what the mechanic is intended to convey. They reworked it, water is paid out from quest rewards, and by default there's a 55 day cap on stored water so you can walk away from the game for almost two months if you've saved up a lot. I don't think they're going to remove the mechanic and I don't think they should, because it's a part of the experience and should be appreciated for being a bold choice if nothing else.

Your name is Ethan. You were born to fight Russia in the last war ever fought using a well equipped walking NATO war crime. Your time finally arrived when Russian forces cross the border and viciously nuke...themselves. Attack on Titan just showed up and started killing everyone, so now your bipedal war crime is a war necessity. Go get 'em.

Fantastic love note to mecha genres of all kinds. Somehow the dev team of exactly one guy managed to crank out a far better game than the studio that made LEFT ALIVE. Don't hesitate to pick it up.

Fairly solid gameplay loop and about what you'd expect from a co-op looter shooter. Does a lot of things decently, but still needs time to find itself and tune its progression. After playing Warframe for 3000 hours I may be spoiled, but the grind for Descendants is often needlessly lengthy and unsatisfying. I do not particularly enjoy running the same dungeon 25 times so I can run a colossus 25 times only to get everything other than what I wanted. I'm also not a fan of running SpecOps missions (in which enemies do not drop weapons, modules, etc.) only to get gold drops literally every single rotation. Gold is worthless without research items to spend it on. Outside of those complaints I actually kinda like this game and will probably spend a significant amount of time on it, assuming I don't become enraged and burned out by the drop systems.

I don't even pay attention to this game half the time while I'm playing it. I've got the most nauseating sensory overload inducing electronic dance music imaginable blasting in my ears while I navigate through a combination of muscle memory and blips on the map. I carry guns I never use because I basically just fly through every level barely touching the ground while nigh-instantly killing everything in my path because of my immaculately built golden katana. No thought, head empty.

If you played with me you probably did not have fun because I am faster than your bullets and entire groups of level 120+ enemies explode into particle effects the moment I touch them. I don't know how many hours it took me to perfect this playstyle, but I did once speedrun everything I needed to complete the New War on PS4 in about two weeks real-time. The wiki is your friend. The wiki is power. It is integral to your study of the blade. You too can become an Edgelord like me.

In this game you play as a mentally ill man who believes he is living in a fictional country named Poland, compulsively snaps his fingers, and feeds on the internalized psychoses of other lunatics. Since I've become acquainted with Wictor I've seen him start a street brawl with the police right in front of the Tsar, terrorize half the city during a bar crawl, and hang out with the most notorious Russian schizo in history. I really don't know how his life could get any more interesting, but I definitely want to find out. After eight hours I'm still rather impressed.

If I had to make a comparison between this and other games it'd be a strange one: It's slavic Persona. You will become well acquainted with the Goetia and probably use them to tear someone's throat out. Warsaw is lovingly crafted and the folk that populate it are just as backward as you would expect from 1905. While the game does have a serious tone it and its protagonist are chalk full of wit and sarcasm. I often can't tell which components of the game's world are real, and I don't think Wictor can either. It's fun that way.

Want to be a cool warlock that incites gunfights in the street? Don't take your meds. A++ would recommend.

You play as a death squad for a totalitarian government and you kill anything that's not human. Game's fun. When people complain about nerfs and balancing make sure to check their reviews for evidence of skill issues.

The crew of the HIS "Magnum" may possibly be the most cursed human beings in any videogame I've ever played. Y'see, you're not really actively fighting the demons in this game. The mercenaries you play as are not paid killers but rather bioweapons. There's no reason to send more than one at a time because even if they fail there's a high chance interdimensional monsters will erupt from their bodies and massacre those who remain.

But that's not the worst sin they're guilty of in the eyes of the world. Nobody even cared that they summoned an Aztec death god. Magnum is listed as an illegal organization for one reason and one reason only: Repeated NAP violations. Fret not, because all that really means is that nobody can pay you with money. You don't need any pesky banks to protect your assets anyway.

Quasimorph is a fantastically well constructed roguelite set in a savage future where you trade in death, guns, and bullets as well as human skulls, ribs, eyeballs, and ears. Revel in moral bankruptcy. It's !FUN!
