Jokes aside, DONTNOD should've been the ones to continue Max's story. This game was mid at best.

Truly a one-of-a-kind gaming experience that, dare I say, rivals such staples of the farming simulation genre as Stardew Valley, mainly by bringing character relationships to a much deeper level of immersion.

Grounded is a great, well-rounded sandbox experience. It has everything you’d expect from its genre: resource gathering ☑, crafting and upgrading ☑, base building ☑, combat and exploration ☑ – all of which combined create an impressive amount of depth. Not to mention countless small details and an abundance of content scattered around the yard.

I haven’t yet finished the game as of writing this review, but I expect to spend many more hours exploring this cool tiny world and seeing what new adventures it will take me on.

The only gripe I have has to do with how obscure some really fun parts of the game are. I just don’t like it when I have to sift through wiki articles in order to understand basic game mechanics, only to find out that I could have been using them for a while. Or when I need to find one specific item in the corner of the map to unlock new upgrades, items and structures.

But otherwise, it’s definitely one of my favorite games so far.
