I was like, 'yeah, sure I'll try this out' finally after hearing the tales of it and then suddenly it's 6 am. Help!

But more seriously, it smashes those roguelike buttons and number go up neurons like nothing else. Excellent style, interface and more.

Okay, I bought this on a whim, having played Factorio. What it already has is VERY good, very fun and polished. I want to see where it goes from here, and I dig how elevation is actually implemented into things. My only personal request is like, a way to easily access hands and such and how the deployment of the selfminers work. Feels like it could be different there, because of the use of the 'Hands' options. But that's pretty minor vs a so far very fun experience.

This is an absolutely wonderful bit of strategy gaming that has few equals on any platform. Do you play it safe, or do you risk it all for humanity? There are times where your decisions, even with all the foreknowledge and tactical gumption you can manage, don't survive contact with the enemy.

This is XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

You start with a selection of troopers, and after progressing them past their rookie stage, each gets specializations that with a bit more elbow grease, can turn into a veritable line of defense for earth. Strong customization options (Hey, name your troopers for online friends!) as well as a great deal of variability and challenge along with a great narrative and soundtrack make this a nobrainer to get if you dig strategy games.

Even if you weren't a fan of the original (or didn't play) there is no reason not to give it a shot, especially when it's on sale.
