Thanks, the citadel is a great deterrent, I'll stay the helli away from this cesspit of squeakers.

Also, the jumping mechanic is a real pain in the a**.

Despite what some ppl say, the game does run quite ok you just need to take some time and tweak your settings a bit.

It does look impressive and the gameplay has a lot to offer if you're willing to overlook some shortcomings. I'm certainly having fun with it.

As far as I know this is entirely madeup and not lore accurate. Waaaaaaaay overpriced too.

I'd also say it looks pretty terrible but everyone has to decide that for himself.


ps.: one could also say that this is false advertising, they call it "Invasion Mech Patterns" but there really is no plural here, you get exactly 1 mechpattern !

I love some parts of it... mostly because I'm always craving new battletech games and they did some things really well.

I really can not recommend it however. The state this was released in is a slap in our face.
- performance issues
- bugs that even a blindfolded QA tester should have spotted
- bad ui design
- questionable game mechanics
- "boss" fights that contradict the battletech lore and generally feel wrong
- terrible AI
- ... probably more things

3 pretty nice new maps for 10 bucks. Seems like an ok deal to me.

Also you don't even have to buy them if you have a friend hosting them for you.

RoN ist ein würdiger Nachfolger für SWAT4 und das will schon wirklich was heißen.

Lediglich den singleplayer find ich etwas mau, insbesondere da das Hauptquartier recht leblos wirkt und jegliche Dialoge oder Zwischensequenzen fehlen um die einzelnen MIssionen und die Story besser zu verbinden. Das wäre noch schön gewesen.

Allerdings zock ich es auch fast aussschließlich im coop und da ist es grandios gut (wenn man mit brauchbaren Leuten spielt).

rather good game, would recommend it not for the poor communication skills from the devs.

Maybe they'll get the message and reconsider how and what they communicate in their news posts. I don't appreciate it when someone wastes my time.


So I was about to turn this review back to positive again, since I rather enjoyed playing the new update.
That was until my savegame got corrupted again. "NullReferenceException"

That bug is almost as old as the game itself and can really ruin your day. Apparently the "fun" pimps have more important things to do than fixing this gamebreaking issue though.

Some may call it abandoned but its really just a a finished product.
The devs did exactly what they had planned for this game and then moved on.

Yeh it had the potential to be more than that but apparently they decided that extra effort wouldn't have been worth it. Fair enough.

That being said, it is a decent game, its fun and it works well. That's not something you can say about a lot of titles at release these days.

The game is best played in coop. Main downside in my eyes is that the content is somewhat limited. The missions that are available do have some replay value but not too much.

Still, I've enjoyed it.

There are a lot of small issues and QoL problems that would probably be easy to fix, that make the game rather cumbersome to play. Some of them are painfully obvious.

I'll just name a few:

- FPS limit can only be set in increments of 20 (why would you even do that) so you can set it to 20,40 and 60, but not to 30.
- Mouse sensitivity setting is not granular enough
- Can't bind key combinations or doubletaps
- Can't move with the map open (normally I like to take a quick peek at the map to see where my team is, while running to the next objective)
- Right mouse button can't be rebound (i prefer hold to ADS instead of ADS toggle)
- Can't sprint from ADS. You have to manually exit ADS before you're allowed to sprint.
- You can filter out full servers but you can't filter out empty servers... (why do one thing but not the other??!!?)
- Can't open the scoreboard at the end of the round.
- Own name isn't highlighted on the scoreboard
- No full body awareness
- Leaning left and right is terribly slow but ducking and going prone is almost instant.


The sprinting thing is especially terrible... if you're kneeling behind an obstacle aiming downrange and you notice a grenade nearby... you can't simply sprint to cover.... you'll have to first lower your weapon, then stand up, then run.

And if that wasn't bad enough already... dont even get me started on the cheaters.



I'm trying to like this but.... hell, please focus on making the game enjoyable and somewhat userfriendly before working on adding new features.
