It feels wrong to post a negative review about a free game I enjoyed but here I go. I have never seen a new game with such potential have its player base abandon it so quickly. The game has been out a little over a month and its lost almost all its players. Connection and matchmaking issues are one of the biggest problems, I have been kicked from games or had team mates kicked from games all too often. Class balance issues are frustrating as well. The biggest problem and the reason I'm writing a negative review comes down to matchmaking. They will throw brand new players under level 5 in with players in the 40s or 50s. Now I understand that with the numbers dwindling the way they are there will be issues like that. But the problem lies with their solution. Instead of working on matchmaking they just made players levels invisible so now you have no idea how high leveled the people kicking your ass are. All of this tied in with that fact that they are charging an outrageous amount for cosmetics that no one can really see makes me want to join most of the other players and leave this game behind. I hope one day I can change this to a positive review but I doubt that day will come.

I love the base game but this DLC really bothers me. You start out going through an incredibly small zone with only a couple new enemies thrown in. Shortly after you are stuck in a large maze like area for well over an hour. All that is found in this zone are annoying puzzles with unkillable enemies and computers with story exposition. I'm grateful for the lore info, but I cant think of a more boring way to give it to the players. If you want any backstory you have to stop and read computer logs in between tasks, making an already monotonous section take much longer. Once you are finished with that area the DLC truly begins. That part is pretty cool. The new world and enemies are fun and interesting. Unfortunately every dungeon I've seen has been copy/pasted versions of each other, The bosses are new and challenging, sure, but the dungeons themselves are uninspired and tedious. its as if the devs made one new dungeon and just changed the boss each time. All of this pales in comparison to my biggest complaint though. Minor spoilers for the final boss ahead;

While fighting the final boss when you get to the second phase they change your main weapon on you, giving you a different long gun. This pretty much guarantees your death on higher difficulties as it is not upgraded and you don't know what the mod does. Once you die you are put back in the maze area I mentioned earlier and told to simply "Go through the portal" Well I go back to the portal and the person next to it tells me to activate it to go back to the boss. Well that's not what happens. The portal takes you somewhere else. After a bit of googling I find that you have to activate the orbs in Ward Prime and then activate the portal to return to the boss. You should NEVER have to google how to return to the boss you were just fighting. Especially not when the game essentially kills you. I won't go into details about the boss itself, but I'm not happy with it either. This dlc is full of interesting ideas implemented poorly. With the addition of copy pasted dungeons and annoying mechanics I can't recommend this dlc and I don't think I'll be playing much more of it myself.
