Insanely good for early access, buggy but feels great when things do work.


Pros:

The world building is phenomenal, and the way enemies look are really awesome

Quests feel rewarding, pretty much always gives water so people crying about the water system are crying over being lazy more than anything

Very fun survival game, can see myself spending hours on this game because of the progression

Able to play with friends makes the experience all that much better

Can craft better ammo so that you can actually take on bigger threats, even with smaller guns that draw less attention

Grenade launcher makes you feel like a real man

Looting = dopamine

Game makes your adrenaline pump when being chased and shot at

I love ratting


Cons:

Many bugs need to be fixed like left hand not being attached to weapons/sliding around weapon and getting in front of sight

Falling through maps when looting certain things (Looking at you, helicopters)

Guns on full auto and burst are seemingly useless and stutter like crazy or fire slow

Enemies get stuck in walls and on terrain, and sometimes the ceiling. They can still shoot you through these objects

The Ai tracking you/seeing through walls absolutely needs to be fixed and addressed as well as them walking in place/getting stuck on objects

Movement animations not lining up with how your character is moving (same with enemies) and also movement in general being relatively sluggish/stiff feeling, even at low weight

Melee attacks also hitting behind you so you can accidentally hit teammates if they're too close

Rep system may be bugged, you lose rep with opposite factions, for example killing Eurasian and losing Europan rep) and also scavenger rep, may or may not be a bug, not sure

Game should be more specific about what attachments go for what guns, I'd rather not be forced to buy ALL attachments just to see which ones fit the guns I have. A "linked search" similar to Tarkovs would be nice to have

Looting a container and then being unable to fire your guns/switch guns

Hunter Killers spawn absolutely out of no where, sometimes seconds into the start of a run, forcing you to extract early


There are things I'd also like to see like:

Rocket Launchers, make them insanely hard to get but do MASSIVE damage, maybe even one shotting certain things

Maybe the ability to make a campfire in the open world, could heal you slowly over time and give the ability to heat up food so it heals more than uncooked food or something along those lines, but the smoke may attract enemies

More weapons and traders, maybe also ability to repair "destroyed" weapons you pick up, making gunrunner kit viable for more than just money

More routes to move throughout maps while being undetected

Weapon supressors making enemies aggro less, especially at distance


Other than that it is an early access game but me and my friends are having a very great time playing

This is the most hilarious pants sh*tting co-op horror game I've ever played.
Me and my autistic friends love it. 10/10

If you're looking for a game very close to Dark Souls 1, then I 10000% recommend this banger of a game

The reviews about bad performance are somewhat of a lie and misleading. I get around 120-150 fps on medium-high graphics in the open and around 70 fps in very dense populated forests.

A lot of the issues of normal Ark like the hit boxes of flying creatures and such have seemingly been fixed. I get drops in FPS and frame stutters but it is NO WHERE as bad as people are saying. My FPS has been arguably better than original Ark (plus it looks insane compared to old Ark) and I have only crashed twice so far.

I recommend running Studio Drivers if you're on Nvidia, don't run the ♥♥♥♥ "Game Ready" drivers as they are unstable and unnecessary. Studio drivers will always be more stable/better than Game Ready.

I give this remaster a 10/10 as I am a huge Ark fan and love this game. Very glad to see it finally look high quality with a lot of the original bugs fixed.

This game is NOT Ark
This game is an abomination of something that could be amazing

As someone with well over 4k hours over two accounts for Ark, I can say with certainty that the company making this game deserves a law suit or something for promising things they cannot/will not deliver. I have never played a game that has made me so depressed simply for the inability to progress and the amount of bugs that are STILL TO THIS DAY in the game. You may think the crafting system is great or won't be a problem but it is when you need to travel from A1 to G7 just to get one material because other islands aren't spawning that material which takes literally 2-4 hours in total IRL) Me and my friends who absolutely love and enjoy Ark only found two things we enjoyed with Atlas and that was the grapples being ACTUALLY better than Ark's for the most part and the climbing mechanic is fantastic but everything other than that is horrid.

I bought the game when it first came out and it was terrible, came back on 12/3/2021 to give it another shot and guess what? It's still just as bad as it was. They've fixed misc things but not the things that truly ruin the game.

Do NOT waste your time or your money, you will be disappointed and be left with a sour taste in your mouth while Jeremy Stieglitz and Jesse Rapczak are running away with your money.

Literally one of the worst experiences/games I have ever played and I will never install this garbage again. I was going to call it hot garbage but clearly it's cold garbage simply because the flame of inspiration and creativity/love left this game long ago. Actually no, The flame of love, creativity and inspiration was never with Atlas, it was always with Ark and always will be. If you do play it, have fun with your boat constantly bobbing up and down in calm waters and sinking underneath the water as well, obscuring your vision and traveling for hours on end for the worlds slowest progression known to man. Even ancient Rome was built faster than you can build a tier 3 ship in this game.

I loved this game. The most fun BR game i've played and now it's gone :( RIP

Edit: I miss this game more and more as every day goes by. I miss the speed of it, I miss the movement of it, I miss the gun play, I miss the 80's theme, I miss the emotes and dances, I miss the cosmetics I MISS EVERYTHING about it. If it came back I guarantee it would compete well with other Battle Royales.. Please SquanchGames, do this game Justice. Please don't just scrap it for another game/other ideas, it has so much potential as well as a loving community already behind it..it just needs some love and care. You can't let the 80's die. :(

One issue I have is the optimization is ballsack and after 1.0 optimization patch which was nice on test servers, on live servers they added Themidia which lowers performance of the game by 20% The netcode sucks (15 tick) and the audio for this game needs equalization otherwise your ears will be getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the dicc hole and the rubberbanding is also terrible.

Edit: Uninstalled. Can't handle this piece of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ anymore. No longer an early release game so no excuse as to why there are so many hackers and server/optimization issues. "BATTLE EYE ANTI CHEAT GOLD STANDARD" Don't make me laugh and don't waste your time or your money on this garbage until blueballs figures out how to acutally make a game. No wonder H1Z1 failed so hard because Brendan Greene can't make a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ decent game. The closest he has ever come to anything good was the Arma battle royale mod.

Edit #2: Reinstalled because it's the only decent battle royale game out there, still hackers tho.

Edit #3: Just kidding, it's been uninstalled for years because it's absolute dog water and a horrible excuse for a video game.
