Easily hits 120+ FPS on Steam Deck. Locking and playing at 60 fps is the most fluid experience I've had since day one release of Steam Deck and owning it. A must have for any Steam Deck owners. The controls are one of the best out there. The game itself is an easy 9.5/10.

I played my first Ace Combat 26 years ago on PlayStation 1.

First time landing, friend in front of me, I try to move and accidentally fired my gun, headshot, he is dead!

11/10 game, never been happier before with a game.

100h edit:
I cannot believe I actually put another 100h into this game after my initial review. There is one thing about this game that is the same after 110h of playing it, never got boring, still finding new thing to do and even doing the same thing is still fun if not more as my friends are starting to get better too.

I love the community, to those level 40s and 50s that saw me bringing my level 5-6 friends with me and never kicked us, thank you. This game deserves to win the most wholesome community award for sure.

Devs updated and upgraded a lot of things, I've personally never once had server issue throughout my 110h. Performance could still use some work and frame generation is needed. my 4090 running it at 5120x1440 struggles from time to time and I drop to 50s-60s before going back up to 80-90 fps again.

Edit 200h: New Warbond dropped, the old one I paid for went missing, it then came back 8 hours later, I did email them letting them no I am too attached to my Warbond and either refund the game or give it back lol.
Game is more fun now than the time I started, I am finally starting to get comfortable with it. Randomly dropping in low difficulty to help out new comers. Performance has been terrible after the recent update and fixes, 4090 and getting 30-40fps, used to get around 100 fps.

Edit: sorry comrades for being late, just changed my positive review to negative.

Sony will be taught a lesson it will never forget, just like when Sony went after Geo Hotz and ended up regretting it.

This is an amazing game, it needs to distance itself from Sony and get out of it quickly. I own over 700 games on PSN, Sony is evil.

11/10 game, I feel privileged to have a game made about me. So much so that I got a few copies for my friends too to experience my life and how much I have to dodge their bullsh*t everyday lol.

Great graphics, almost felt like I was looking in the mirror. Jokes aside, it is fun and helps your mind stop racing when you are having one of those days.

The only request I have is, I need a proper leader board to compete against my friends. I have a reputation I need to protect lol.

Looking forward to seeing where this game goes. Get some feather back on the body? Add a skateboard? lol.

Asked and introduced my best friend to this game, he called it a click and pointy game, he also mentioned it being frustrating and boring.

He likes Pokemon games.

Loved it and still have mine. The only downside to it was the lack of second stick.

Valve made a gigantic mistake removing it and having it replaced with the trackpad.

Should have left it in, all the old, current, and future games that work better with it suffered as a result.

At the end, after 9 years, I am glad Valve made it. I hope to see a second one made with the sticks untouched.

On the positive side, all the games that needed a mouse, especially 2D/2.5D games that you could never play with a controller was made possible with this controller.

The best feature it had? A lot of things but the single best one was community made profile for games. There are at least 100k top notch profiles that can instantly let you feel at home playing old/current/ or even new games!

It would be unfair not to mention my favourite companion to my Steam Controller, that would be the Steam Link. I hope to see a second version of that too.

Support up to 5120x1440 240hz would be nice instead of 1080p 60FPS. My WiFi 6E at home and my fibre internet (10gbps down and up), can handle that x100.

Diablo 3 had goblins and cow level, Diablo 4 instead offers beautiful visual infested with micotransaction.

They have forced everything online and disabled trading ages ago because some people did not want to spent their time after they spent their money to farm and were duplicating stuff.

These greedy developers (cannot call them that, bunch of ****hats to be fair), got upset that they might get paid less, removed trading for everyone! A game you pay for that is always online and has the power to change the game's core mechanic without consent deserves nothing.

Someone in Europe should legally challenge them for changing a core mechanic after they received payment in a way that broke the game.

Edit: faced with these issues, I did the most sensible thing anyone in my position would do, I bought the game for a friend, so he too could suffer. Don't mistake my hours for the game being good, Those hours belong to my mates who make this terrible game worth it.

No FOV slider, 32:9 is a forced 21:9 that is a messed up 16:9. Poor performance and the textures look okay instead of amazing despite downloading 40GB extra.

Go back to Diablo 3, it's not worth it here.

Anyway I am only playing because of my besties, they literally bought it for me knowing I was not going to support these greedy devs. Looking forward to the game getting cracked and receiving community servers.

They can make Diablo 5 out of literal digital gold and pay me and I can tell you I would never touch it, fingers crossed they will go bust.

Bethesda showcased it running on Samsung G9 at 5120x1440.

It’s been 6 months and they still haven’t added a native 32:9 support. Solutions available result in constant aspect ratio shifting to 16:9 when going to menu and coming out of it.

Despite many short comings and being a broken mess, I still highly recommend the game.

It is a shame that Microsoft failed to deliver a finished game, it is in the same state as No Man’s Sky when it originally but there is hope for it.

I have already put in over 400h playing it on the Xbox PC side before I ran into a game breaking bug and decided to convert my save file hoping it would save it, and it did. My character refused to sit to finish a final mission and there was no fix for it and I had no earlier save (the closest working one was 20h out).

Regardless, I love this game and no amount of bugs or issues could change that because it’s simply a great game.

Edit 31/01/2024: Well that was quick lol.

So a new update dropped just now addressing all the bugs I personally had issues with that even stopped m playing the game at some point. The performance improved a lot as well. To my surprise they added 32:9, finally!

Performance: 5120 x 1440, maxed out with max FOV, frame generation is on and DLSS is set to quality. I get 120FPS+ everywhere now, the main city is the only place I drop to 85fps now. It has improved by at least 30 FPS overall.

I am on Intel 4790K running at 4.8GHz - 5.0 GHz. A very old CPU but works great. I also have 4090 and DDR3 RAM that runs at 3200mhz. It is an unusual setup, my CPU is now utilised around 80% and my GPU is 99%. A 500MB/s SSD does affect the game, NVME or at least 1GB/s fast NVME/SSD is the lowest I would say.

This performance and how the game is right now should have been the launch condition, Xbox rushed it because Sony was getting too far ahead, was it worth it? I don't know, I love the game all the same and expect a free full DLC to make up for it. Learn from No Man Sky, take care of your player base. Bring proper CO-OP support to the game.

I am going to finally enjoy the game, although late, well done devs, you finally did it.

2023: I always thought my graphic card couldn't handle the game until I got a 4090 and played it only to realise the game itself is ugly AF. 2D textures everywhere, everything feels out of proportion.

This game was all hype and zero delivery.

Edit 2024: Waited for the update that is going to fix things to drop. It did, and it fixed the graphics and the terrible mechanic and other issues, it is no longer trash and it feels very smooth. The game runs great and I really liked it for the first 10 minutes of it.

Here comes an even bigger problem, why is this game so dialogue heavy and boring? It is not even something that has any impact on the game, just none stop yapping. I was hoping I could skip but no chance, can only skip little bit at a time. It is not even a dialogue, it is just the game coming at you every second. The characters in the game are unlikable.

I waited years for this to get fixed and it is obvious the game itself is just nothing but hype and a let down. I am a huge cyberpunk fan and this game only shares the name.

This game is a solid 4/10.

Early Access Review
I’ve been a day one backer and I just realised I never left a review here for the game.

It’s an amazing game and one that I spend a lot playing on my steam deck when I’m travelling and without internet.
I love Rimworld and Stardeus is definitely the next generation and the next big thing if you are a Rimworld fan like myself.
