This game is why I bought a Vive, and while it's good, I was very disappointed to find it's different from the version I played in the VR arcade. This was not mentioned in the description on either Steam or the Humble Bundle store, which is where I actually bought it from. If you're going for this game based on playing it at a VR arcade, steer clear!

Don't get me wrong, it's a good game. It's just not the game I thought I was paying for.

Update: I gave it another try and just... I don't know if I was going in biased against it or what, but everything about the game irked me. I had previously only tried the Horde mode on the day I set my Vive up and was just checking to make sure everything worked.

Today I tried the campaign, and just... If I could refund this game, I would. The dialog, what little there is, is awful. The voice actor for the main character/narrator is annoying. It's super easy to see when zombie swarms/arena battles will happen, and even then you can't avoid them. There's no explanation for some features of the game, like how to use grenades, or what on earth the masks and hats are for.

The thing that irked me the most was that all weapon types seem to share ammo pools. I get it, it's a game, simplify things for the sake of ease of use. But it just annoys me to see a 1911, a Tokarev, a and a P38 all take from the same ammo pool. Maybe I got spoiled by H3VR on that one.

Anyway, flat out avoid this game. Maybe one day they'll make the VR arcade version available to the public.

Update 2: I was actually able to refund it through the Humble store, since they apparently sided with me and my claim of deceptive advertising. Neat.
