Ori and the Blind Forest is a beautiful metroidvania type game. It is also, a fun/frustrating platformer disguised as an artistic/child-friendly game, it's deceptively challenging at times almost on Super Meat Boy levels. The closest comparision I can make to this game is Dust: An Elysian Tail, which I thoughouly enjoyed also. *Insert another indie game comparison here*. Joking aside, I would definately recomend this game to anyone who wants a solid, well crafted, platformer with metroidvania sprinkled in. I would also recomend it to someone who can make a plushie of Ori, he is adorable.

Imagine Portal but more philosphophical and... yeah it's Portal with no portals. Actually, there are kinda portals, but you don't control them personally. So... get this game if you like Portal. Which you should. Yep.

I enjoyed this game overall and I'm glad I was able to experience this story. That is the long and short of how I felt about this game; not to say that it didn't have problems, but I'll get into that.
You play as a paranormal detective investigating "The Vanishing of Ethan Carter"; hence the title. You find clues about him through solving the murder mysteries of his relatives. As a paranormal detective, you have a special skill of seeing exactly how they died, and where Ethan went, by solving each killing. As you progress through the game you find out more about the family members, and Ethan himself through papers you get from solving each mystery. Think of a Myst-lite crossed with murder investigatons... and that is more or less this game honestly, it isn't much broader than than that.
Speaking of Myst, this game is very heavy on exploration and immersion. However, the puzzle aspect of Myst is slightly lacking in here for this to be a perfect comparison to Myst. Not to say this doesn't have puzzles, there are quite a few in here, but they aren't as difficult or... as usually obscure, as they are in Myst. Which to be honest, i'm pretty happy about since I was able to get through the game without a guide. (I did use a guide for one of the achievements though).

This game is very short and sweet, and I was able to complete it in an afternoon. However, its length felt appropriate, not bloated or too short, I'd compare it to a nice desert and wine that follows a main course meal. That being said I have some "minor" complains about it.
My main complaints about this game are are:
1. There are multiple parts where you have to ride an elevator up and down SlOWLY, ride some sort of locomotive SLOWLY, or just having to go through really slow areas. Not only multiple parts, which I can be fine with, but you potentially have to go through them multiple times. Not only that also, but elevators stay on the floor that you left them on, and then you have to wait while they SLOWLY come back up, and then having to wait while they take their time on going down. I HATE that we still have these parts in games, we have maps now for games with fast points. WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY TO FIX THIS. Which brings me to point-

2. There is no map in this game. Now I can hear people saying that having a map would break the experience of being fully immersed in this world. Those people might be right, but me breaking my keyboard in frustration brings me out of games faster than having a map would.
That is all.

3. I experienced a couple hiccups in the framerate, my computer could be at fault, but I saw where other people were complaining about this also.

Other than that, this was overall a very good game. I'd recomend it to people who enjoy love, happiness, and puppies.

Syberia is one of the best adventure point and click games I have ever played. It has an excellent story, a very likable main protagonist that grows, great side characters, challenging, but logical, puzzles and progression (one of the few adventure games that I felt nailed progression and puzzles without being frustrating or too obscure), just... a wonderful game. One of the few things I will complain about is that it does look a bit dated, and also that getting from one area to another can take way too long. But besides that, I give this a 9.75 and a very high recomendation for all adventure point and click/story lovers.

Dust: An Elysian Tail is an excellent action game, has a good, but somewhat cliche'd story, and is a blast to play. The combat never felt unfair, there being an equal part strategy and skill involved in it. However, there were some frustrating bits of combat here and there. The only major thing that I have aginst the game is that some of the character profiles when you talk to them and also the cutscenes, aren't as good looking as the rest of the game, which is rather sad because the rest of the game looks amazing. With all that being said, I'd give it a 9.5/10 and a high recomendation.

Wow, this is one of the best stories in a game that I've seen so far. It's incredibly short, but worth the journey.
