I kinda like this game.

By a WHOLE LOT.

But it *must* be modded.

Unfortunately the base game fell short and with it having been entirely abandoned it never was able to live up to what so many, including me, wished it could have truly been. A world where this got the same support Terraria has gotten would be a dream like you wouldn’t believe.

So I will thumbs up this game even after all these years. Even with the need of mods and knowing that it has certain performance issues that are engine deep and likely will never be fixed unless a overhaul happens from the the ground up. Official or not.

Adding in continuing a session in HILO was the best worst idea because things just keep going. And we *still* play more HILO anyway.

Remember when PopCap used to make fully featured games like this and weren't forced to mobile game it to Hell and back?

You can keep all your Blitzes and whatever else came after. This one still has me come back every once in a while and either chill, fill some time or just bang my head against Diamond Mine.

This isn't even really a review but just acknowledging it's been over a decade since this came out and it's still as good as we got it from PopCap for Bejeweled.

It's beautiful.
Sometimes heartwarming.
Other times sad.
Even a little spooky.
But most of all an experience from beginning to end.
The less you know going in the better so don't look up some long gameplay video or let's play.
Let it just take and guide you.

If you're playing this to get to the exit you're doing it wrong.
