Tl;DR
Recommend on sale with deep discounting.

I sure would have been pissed if I paid full price for this. Having picked it up for $20, I'm just occasionally annoyed but playing.

A good story as always, and I am looking forward to completing it. But the technical short-cutting is grating me in unexpected ways. I am getting over the fact that it doesn't work on my triple-screen monitor setup like every other modern game can do. Just the price we pay to have it on consoles that I will never use. But when I set everything to ULTRA so I can have an immersive experience and it cannot draw the lock-picking animation?

Now I'm finding areas like the quarry where I just clip through rocks, a car factory where door textures are glitched and I just pass through, floating loot, what am I going to find next? This has been out for seven months, I would have expected a bug pass by now.

The building was fun, until I figured out I could stack staircases togther and build an entire complex hanging out in the air with no support, it turned it from a sc-fi adventure to Garry's Mod. Different kind of fun, but totally immersion killing.

Cannot recommend at the full price. To me it is just Fallout 3 with color and that is not a $60 game. Get it on sale (%67+ off ) like I did.

The most fun I've had in an RPG in several years. Where was this hiding?

Its interesting how creepy such a simple effort can be. Nice job, sad when it was over.

After a week:
Well, sad to say that you really better like those videos and you should NEVER pay full price for this. Not until they actually fix some of these PC specific problems. I am right at the tipping point for not recommend. If I lose all my data again and restart then, yeah. I'll change my advice.

After Three Days:
* It would be nice if when you closed the app that it let Steam know so I didn't have to kill that process to close my computer.
* It would be nice if when you opened the app you actually remembered that I use a wheel, not a keyboard. You certainly seem to remember all the settings. Just not that I use it.
* It would be nice if I didn't have to set my language options to English-UK (rule britania!) instead of English-whatever so that my save files don't corrupt and at least I have my races.
* It would be nice to know where the config file resides so I can back it up because I don't trust your program anymore. I don't feel I should play it until I know I won't have to restart again. For the third time.
* It would be nice if the DLC cars you give a purchaser for free actually showed in the garage instead of making us wait 60 to 80 seconds for the process to buy it for free. For each car.
* It would be nice if your menu didn't take 30 seconds to load a simple menu UI every freaking time.
* It would be nice if you responded to the community.

After Two Days:
Wow, there is a lot of borked stuff here. Time updates. Save files, Processes getting stuck so that you have to kill the process for Steam to restart the game. Pretty bad. Can only recommend for the really PC technically-minded.

After One Day:
Well, I got it on sale last night and the "Loeb Experience" videos are probably worth the price of the game. Even with out driving any cars. But I am a fan of the man.

The physics - as many before me have pointed out - are lacking. Or you could say, old. They work fine, just not up to the standards that were set by others while this was still in development. Frame rates and the system in general is stable for me (16gb ram, i5, 640gx) so I have no complaints in that area.

Car modifications are reasonable, except for paint which looks more like it was half don and then dropped for some reason. Not much there.

Sounds are decent. meh

THe worst part is the fact that something less than stellar has Mssr Loeb's name on it. Just erks me.

Totally work the $4 on sale to throw the Ford Escort around Nordschliefe. Put in 100 litres and leave the rest stock. Giggled like a school girl. Just need Sabine now.

Have no idea what the other cars are doing. Don't care.

Actually the best use of a farm animal award should go to Fable III, but they don't list that in Steam anymore. This is the second best that I know of, and the first best on Steam IMHO.

Plus its a fun game.

Still one of the best FPS games around. Still works on modern hardware (unlike Arma II). Bit pricey for its age in 2016 imho.

If you liked Euro Truck, Euro Truck 2, you'll flow quite naturally into this. Afterall, it is basically the same game as we all expected. Current mod community will have a quick port of their work. Lot's of plusses under the hood. All new scenery and models are like going on a vacation drive and seeing the country. For me, it's interesting to see how America gets boiled down to its esssentials from someone else's eyes.

Economy and pricing with the "World of Trucks" web will be nice. Arizona coming up. And getting rid of that 32-bit version for PC will make a big difference down the road.

Biggest pleasure so far is that parking is a lot harder! And if you think you're good at it, I suggest you make some night-time deliveries.

Down side:
* The fact that it is only the south west to start with (CA, NV, AZ) when I am sure everyone is itching to do some cross-country runs. I know I am.
* Only two licenses trucks (Peterbilt and Kenworth) so far. Of course, the modders are not under any such constraints.
But I have a lot of faith in SCS from their track record so I can accept not having everything at once.

Love this game, but it is because I already loved the other. The familiarity is comfortable. Now I have to go. I have a trucking company to build.

Its reasonable. Great sound. It takes a little to get used to, doesn't play like Dirt at all. But the sense of speed is really strong with these. My G27 took a little bit to set up, not horrible but not out of the box. The menus have a lot of console junk in them for a PC release - always annoying but doesn't affect the drive. Hate the co-driver call-outs. Something I'd have to get used to.

If you're a full on sim race like I am, you'll need to take more than a couple of runs just to dial your steering wheel in. Then you can run a couple of stages to see what it really handles like. I think its not so bad.

Now, if they are really going to have every rally in 2016 playable in the game? It might be worth it for that. Unless the cost is just repeating DLC charges.

Its' fun. This demo is free. Go for it.
