TL:DR EDIT - Bad port, great game.
Gameplay is great and I like the story/characters/world so much. Unless you're hungry for it and willing to sacrifice visuals/performance for urgency or avoiding getting spoiled, wait for the game to mature.

Details:
Port needs work, chugged on opening planet a bit and during one boss/set-piece later in particular on AMD RX 5700 and Ryzen 3600. Generally get 40-60 fps on mixed settings, like max draw distance but low AA and post effects. A couple cases of a hard freeze frame that required ending the process (one repeatable one where picking up a force essence you cannot leave before freezing). Somewhat steady, not had constant stutter.

Also have slighty iffy rebinding of controls, e.g. I have a side mouse button bound to RCtrl which I have for special attack, which worked fine until I got blaster stance where it wouldn't fire to complete tutorial. There's a sort of work around where if I press F (which was the default binding that I rebound to interact) while I have blaster stance open, it will wake up the blaster and I can use RCtrl to shoot it normally. Slso I think the hold/toggle force pull to hold onto things option is broken on keyboard, maybe works on controller, and some buttons require a bit of spamming to bind. Digital Foundry has a good video on the PC port shortcomings.

Gameplay is good, definitely an upgrade to the previous entry, you could blitz the campaign in like 20hrs, or explore properly for stims and essence upgrades, perks and all the cosmetics. If performance holds steady you should have a fun time, there's a decent "May the Performance be with you" mod and I disable mouse smoothing with another. Some sites you can luck onto a 30% discount on the game, would be worth it if you plan to play soon even if you wanna wait for some patches. Can at least benchmark it, and the low settings don't look as bad as low setting on other older games, and if you're willing to sacrifice visuals for gameplay you can get the May the Performance be with you mod and adjust stuff like TAA and Potato textures.

All the characters/NPCs you get to talk to, even enemy idle chatter, the story takes a minute to get rolling, some convenience kicks things off, but payoffs and villains and resolutions and boss fights all do well to carry story momentum.

Played a couple hours of the Steam NextFest demo which sold me on the game (and even carried my save game over! though I'll need to replay start for achieves probably).

If you're on the fence I recommend just buying and playing it a bit, the bungee grapple will probably take a while for me to master, but within the 2 hour refund window you should be able to discern if it's the kind of thing you want to figure out or if it doesn't jive with you.

Shame there's no longer a demo, not sure I would've got it otherwise, or at least as quickly. I know Ultrakill is something I immediately hopped on after playing the demo, where I might've waited a bit longer after it got more hyped up to get it, but I think if you like what you see with the Rusted Moss gameplay, you'll probably have fun if you can clear the difficulty floor of the bungee.

Love this game. Milked the NextFest demo because the gameplay is just tight and spot on.
Versus players is great, and versus AI also filled with neat enemy types.

Gameplay is straightforward to understand, with intuitive movement control that is fun to master or just swing around wildly, and there are a few great gameplay interactions such as sabers being able to trigger explosives, being able to intersect incoming projectiles and missles with your own projectiles or just throwing a weapon at them. Being able to saber throw and recall any weapon you drop does a world of wonder in how you can slice from afar or change the trajectory of a grenade throw.

A bonus is that you can play locally, including Steam play together, so if you mainly want to play this multiplayer, just get your friends to try it free no strings attached and they may just buy it themselves!

Pretty darn fun fighting game, and easy to pick up.

The attention to the core character of each fighter is excellent, having Iron Giant crushing junk and only happening to hit you, or Tom and Jerry actually fighting each other with their opponents being collateral damage is beyond aesthetic flare, but all the aesthetic difference makes game clarity mostly a breeze other than when your teammate or opponents are the same character.

Having supportive abilities and characters makes playing duos with a friend that much more fun, and the matchmaking so far has been extremely smooth and low friction. You can play 3 games with a matching opponent or team, but after the first or 2nd (if it's a tie) you can decline to play further, and you can change your characters each round.

This game mainly consists of a series of short, typically straightforward to complete levels, where the challenge and fun comes from figuring out how to beat them quickly, using your movement to it's limit and figuring out creative ways to use a variety of abilities and weapons which are simple to understand and use for their initial intention or more effectively. The level design is top tier, emphasising a main path that hides alternate possible routes for you to skip through them with clever uses of the ability cards present in them, really bringing the best out of all the mechanics.

You have 4 ratings/medals for each main level corresponding to certain times: Silver, Gold, a blue Ace, and a secret red Ace time which isn't revealed until you beat it fast enough.
Probably to best way to start playing this game is finish a level once, finish it again to hunt for a present placed somewhere in the level that unlock character interactions and sidequest levels, and then go for better times before moving on to the next one. You could also complete a batch/chapter of levels before replaying them later with better knowledge of your capabilities.

What I and many people will end up doing though is constantly pressing restart every time you make a noticeable slip-up until your first completion of the level :P and you will still have plenty of fun. As of writing, I have completed all levels and unlocked all rush modes (one requiring 100% ace medals on all story levels), I have 6 red Ace medals, and have not played any rush modes yet (roughly 20 hours, Steam was going offline a bit during one session).

I was sold on this game after playing the NextFest demo, I recommend anyone not sure to jump in for a bit, complete as many levels as you can within 2 hours (feel free to use the fast forward button in cutscenes and dialogue), and you can always refund it beforehand if you don't like how it plays. Really like the structure of everything in this game, also enjoyed a handful of present hunts which were difficult to figure out how to reach. Would've liked more of those and hope someday this game gets another level pack or workshop support so people can make more content. Worth full price for some, worth sale price for most anyone that would enjoy this game, worth a try for anyone who likes FPS movement.

Sidenotes:
Story is pretty good, I quite liked how it wrapped up by the end, but there was some fluff earlier on. Main stuff is mostly voice-acted, and you unlock some not voice-acted side dialogue if you're into the characters, it serves as a good backdrop for the gameplay and justifies some changes to levels later on. The visual novel delivery is mostly effective, but there were times I wished for more variance in backgrounds and posing, or to see some more animation for significant beats, there are just enough scenarios where you see unique drawings or stuff animated 3D in the engine though.

The graphics aren't technically anything to write home about, but the art direction is tight and makes the levels pleasant spaces to replay in over and over, and it also does well to distinguish key elements in levels so you waste less time thinking about what you're seeing. This isn't a game you want performance issues, and gratefully I had none, along with excellent disk hard drive loading times on levels and constant restarting.

Music is not unique every level, but each type of zone/area has a main theme, and a handful of special levels with their own tracks, all are pretty good and compliment the gameplay well, a few in particular really got me going feeling the need for speed playing the same levels over and over.

Legendary indie co-op game.
Unlike Sonic, did the leap from 2D to 3D ez, and with only 2 games!

Great game!
- Simple but fun mechanics for climbing and platforming
- Great base levels with puzzles and parkour, often with the option to skip sections with trickier alternate routes
- A heap of workshop content to keep you and friends playing with maps and character customisation

Good game, base is at least worth sale price. The two free DLC levels up the puzzle complexity a bit more with additional mechanics, and are welcome additions to the game.
Short but sweet fun, with effectively spooky atmosphere I hope to see more of :)

Finicky but rewarding physics based movement and combat, surrounded by a rich world and interesting AI opponents with different capabilities. If not fighting other humans in the arena to hone your skills and get an overview of the gear progression potential, you'll be scrawling your way through a dark and dim dungeon with nothing to guide you but the light of your torch and a compass (if you don't miss it on the first floor). You may come across less aggressive silhouettes on your way down, but most will be hostile to you, better equipped, and capable of ruining your run if you don't tread carefully.

Otherwise, you have a practice arena to hone your skills, and an arena campaign where you manage your funds on what gear to get, hire disciples to fight with/for you.

Hitboxes are accurate to the models to the point the actual coverage of your armour collides with incoming weaponry and the type of damage and protection to the particular armour piece (don't forgo a helmet!!!). Even your height and weight matters in this regard; weight making you more stable, height affecting reach or the ability to crouch under swings.

Backed this on Kickstarter under Sui Generis, and despite the initial pitch being different to this current project, I backed for this innovative gameplay system and engine, and am not yet disappointed.

Doom Eternal is my FPS of the year, probably the best FPS mechanics I've played.
Good thing UltraKill in early access, otherwise it would be tough to choose between them!

This game has the potential to be a landmark FPS, the skill ceiling with current mechanics is already stupendously high, I cannot imagine what the game will look like when it's complete. It currently has 4 guns, which will each have 4 different mods down the line, and different melee arms you can switch between on the fly. There's the ability to slide, dash, ground-slam, wall-jump and parry attacks. You heal by showering in the blood of enemies. The campaign missions are filled with secrets, have great level design, and a good roster of enemies that are well utilised in levels, and work well in the CyberGrind wave mode. Some bosses even become recurring enemies or are thrown into the arena survival, and the other bosses are nuts aesthetically and mechanically satisfying to fight. I was particularly impressed with the AI/behaviour of one more nimble boss.

The fluidity of movement is already spectacular and can only go up from here. So far my only "issue" is figuring out what control schemes will best allow me to juggle everything you have and can do.

Keep an eye on this game.
Play the demo and you'll have but a taste of the game's full potential.
