So I've put 12 hours in this game already in a week and I feel very mixed about it. The concept is a lot of fun but it does feel more like running a business then it is being an animal caretaker. There are also some very annoying problems with the game.

The game feels unnecessarily slow with building. For example you can't open door in building mode: I constantly have to leave building mode to open a door and then open up the tablet to access building mode again, which just is a huge waste of time and takes me out of the flow.

What also bugs me is that I cannot take over an item or action from an employee: sometimes you click on an item and then it says "item already in use" while the employee is still walking from the other side of the building to the item. Once an NPC decides they want to do something with it there is no option from me to take over their action.

Also my employees are stupid: they fill the food of the animals with food that the animals are allergic to. If I then clean up the food and want to put in new food I have to click very fast otherwise the NPC's will already be refilling it in a second, WITH THE SAME FOOD THAT THE ANIMAL IS ALLERGIC TOO??? I cannot override their actions and have to live with the consequences of their stupidity.

Also receptionists are dumb: let's say that I have a cat that is leaving the hotel tomorrow. Today calls a new customer who says "I want to leave my cat at your hotel tomorrow, do you have any rooms available?". Since there is a room coming free tomorrow I will obviously respond with yes. The recepionist's NPC cannot think further then today however so they will decline this offer???

Also the fish minigame is insanely dumb and stupid: it is so boring because you literally press the spacebar to move a fish from the left to the right side of their aquarium so that they can avoid being hit by bubbles. The employees even refuse to play this minigame themselves! So I got rid of fish fast.

The narrative in challenge mode is funny, it basically starts with "Our hotel is going bankrupt, please fix us in 60 days" and a phone call '"We are a marketing company in your area and offer you a free 2 day trial" and there are no characters or story whatsoever, but you can make that up yourself. Once you complete challenge mode there is simply a screen "You made it" and only an option to return to the main menu, not even to continue your saved game XD.

Despite it flaws, it is for some reason fun/addicting to play. Maybe it is the concept or wanting to build a bigger empire, maybe it's the cute animals, or the fact that you can be a d*** to customers by having them come in for a reservation and then decline it. I am going to do another playthrough by trying to run the worst hotel ever, I also want to find out if an animal could actually pass away if you do not give it anymore food.

TLDR:: buy this game IN SALE ONLY and only if you like the concept of running a pet hotel, it is in no way ever worth 17,49 but it can be a lot of fun for it's flaws and cute concept.
