The special game for the special occasion
While Tactical Intervention looks dull, the gameplay is simply fantastic. Many wouldn't find the graphics appealing, but the mechanics are at least interesting. The roll, fire-behind-cover, and heal actions offer a great, well, tactical context for the shooter. It's a reliable party game, as it will surely be fun when played by large groups. You don't have to spend much time to figure out how to play. You just boot it and score kills. Recoil and stamina are calibrated so you should think about positioning yourself in combat. The idea of renting weapons is a cool feature because you don't have to buy them to just to test them; allows for better understanding the physics. While the community is rather dead, it's one of the greatest shooters I've ever seen or played. If you appreciate mechanics over looks, Tactical Intervention is the clear choice for a fast-paced, fun and simple FPS.
