Build 41 Review:

I bought this game ages ago when it was first released. It’s been so long I don’t even remember my first impressions anymore. After at least a 5+ year hiatus from playing it I came back in 2020 to find an absolutely LOVELY zombie survival game. It is absolutely a product of its era, rich in zombies with a great crafting system.

The survival system, however, is top of its class. Moodles, little icon notifications, communicate what your character is craving — which is far superior to status bars that slowly drain. The distinction is subtle, but it means you can focus on exploration without having to nurse your hunger and thirst bars constantly.

The map is HUGE, I’ve spent 60 hours on it so far and have not even scratched the surface, only exploring one of the many towns.

It’s a brutally difficult game if you want it to be (my preference), or a chill building experience. It’s up to you, since every aspect of the game’s difficulty can be tweaked.

The build I’m playing on does not support multiplayer at the moment, and while I eagerly look forward to that support, the single player will keep me occupied for dozens of hours to come, maybe hundreds!!!
