Could be better
The gameplay is a little shaky at times, and the longer you progress through the events (there is no timer), the lower the frame rate becomes for some enemies, such as snakes or snacks, due to a wrong translation of the name. Every tree has a safe zone and if you stand on the ledge of any terrain it's the same thing, therefore stepping on one makes you invulnerable; creatures will spawn just on top of you, unable to target you.

So this makes the gameplay exploitable, buggy, unpolished and unfinished. It does not appear to be very rewarding in its current state, as you can play for 30-40 minutes and not succeed because it is the type of game that requires 5 - 6 hours of farming to acquire the materials needed for increased damage, items, unlock classes, and so on.

Conclusion
It plays great similarly to how Risk of Rain 2 does especially with the flow of movement and dashes, but it doesn't function very well due to the bugs and balancing concerns due to mob density later on throughout the stage. I don't think a game like this is worth the price currently; lower the price in half or wait til they fix the games issues first, and then you'd have a highly engaging and exciting swarm like game with great Roguelike elements. There doesn't seem to be an online mode currently, unless that's also hidden behind unlocks I am unaware of.

You can take this review as more of a informational one, actually think this game has a lot going for it, it's just not where it needs to be as of right now. Hopefully the developers take feedback and polish it out some more for a later date.

HP Lovecraft quality Horror Story
I will be as honest as I always am. I despise horror games.

The reason for this is that it is frequently a genre with low quality and brainrot style jumpscares with no real substance for those of us who want an actual story hiding within that isn't attempting to make us, you know, crap our pants or feel paranoid that something is going to jump out at us for the 20th time.

Mouthwashing is extremely unassuming, both in the video trailer and in the whole game play as you progress through it, but man. This was one of the best horror stories I've ever played through. I was anxious the entire time, not because I was afraid of being jumped at by monsters, but because of what was happening around the ship. This is a narrative about mental struggles and the psychological impact that stress, remorse, and other emotions may have on the minds and personalities of those around us. I will not spoil you, if you're interested in compelling horror stories, pick up the game now.

Conclusion
One of the best horror stories of 2024. It felt highly professional and well-thought out, as if the developer had a goal and gave it their all more than 100% in producing and expressing it through visual and written design.

A story about life
The Hungry Fly is a player-driven choice narrative in where your choices influence which ending you get from the (3). It presents a story about depression, anxiety, growing up, and a variety of other issues that may become more personal with your mind, leading existential thoughts to emerge. It can be a bit grotesque at moments, but overall it's a highly engaging story that respects your choices, no matter which ones you choose. It's very short, but worth the time investment.

Conclusion
It didn't have much of an impact on me; there was no sensation of a crisis sneaking up on me, but I was satisfied with the choices I made, which is unusual for me because most games need me to restart the game to achieve other outcomes. I just didn't understand the point here; I was satisfied with my ending enough to move on from it.

Anti-Climactic
Nothing irritates me more than when a game I've been thoroughly enjoying begins to pick up in terms of character development, story, and world building, just to abruptly cease for no apparent reason. Beyond Galaxy Land is one of those rare JRPG experiences that is exceptionally well-designed. It has a lot of character and aims to tell a story about humanity and all culture throughout space time facing an extermination event like no other. A combination of turn-based response time combat, exploration, and the freedom to play each character however you choose, rather than being confined, there is a lot of freedom here, as well as loads of enjoyable mini-games.

My biggest gripe, unfortunately is the fact that while I really do like this game. The ending is what kills it for me. I can't think of any other games that left me with such a bitter taste in my mouth, but imagine playing your favorite game with the ending removed and replaced with a "make up your own story" ending. That's how the game ends, after all of the struggles, all of the build up and the sudden emotional twist in the story bringing you closer and closer to each character, it's over.

Conclusion
Don't get me wrong, the game itself, the build-up before the climax, is fantastic; you can capture bosses, use their powers, and do a lot with the 15 hours of content this game provides to you as a gamer; however, if you're looking for a very powerful story and a new game plus, both of those features are severely lacking. It's as if they lost interest in the last stretch and put it off to save time. The story was also rather predictable.

Artificial Difficulty Sucks!
The concept here? Solid, the foundation is designed to be a simple yet challenging strategy city builder in which you go deeper underground in search of additional resources as a group of gnomes, fighting off bats, foraging for wood and animal meat, and to fight bosses all while earning buffs and unlocking upgrades over time.

The difficulty with this is that there is simply no need to do this. Don't unlock upgrades; instead, unlock the other gnomes and possibly one of the unlocked upgrades. Because if you do, that set of choices you have will inflate the rotations of what you can and cannot obtain more efficiently. So, with a new file, you're certain to have a build with 5 or 7 x(2) damage, which completely shreds everything; however, once upgraded, that becomes 1-2 x(2), Longer Range, Floating, Auto-Move, and a slew of other stuff that makes the game more difficult.

Conclusion
Given that the more you play, the less enjoyable the game becomes, I cannot suggest it long term. After only two hours, the game is essentially unfair to play because there is no turn-based strategy anymore; it's just "You unlocked upgrades, so now the game is harder!" Shouldn't it be the other way around, where you unlock upgrades and become stronger to face more difficult dungeons? You also have bosses that fall through the floor because they landed on a damaged tile, causing you to lose all of the loot you needed to survive, which you would have killed if not for these idiotic unlocked upgrades.

Hoo... boy this is difficult to recommend...
Okay, have you played the original? Have you played the DEMO? The game is currently nothing like what was previously presented or the original; there are numerous bugs and exploits that can be used to beat the game in less than an hour, as explained in the video. But for those who do not want to see it. Bolt is a sluggish channel skill, but if you click quickly, it becomes a powerful, and I mean very powerful, burst spell as a basic standard spell that can out DPS every other spell.

So it's meaningless to mix and match your elements and try various combinations. Because they aren't as fast-paced, but rather slow and boring to use. The hub is continuously full with disappearing assets, the controls are clunky, and the monsters are generic enough that you don't need to dodge anything with the previously described power spike build. It's just not fun, add in the fact that elements like random mages given to you at the start of the game are removed, you have the freedom to empower yourself any way that you see fit, again... this just lets you force the powerful builds more and more. I liked the previous version, the way we were given random spells and starter relics to actually force you to try new builds. The prizes for playing provide little reason to continue playing, the spells have no incentive to be unlocked once you've found your preferred build (Lightning), and it's not particularly entertaining to play.

Not to mention the multiplayer didn't even work, the connections were so unstable :/

Conclusion
Disappointed; I had hoped for so much more from the original, but I suppose that's what occurs when they move developers and try something different. Check out Wizard of Legend, which was a solid game.

A great & bizarre experience
I prefer this version over the recently released Psychopomp GOLD, which, while it did add in some new features, did not feel as wonderful as the original. It was a very well made game that had a lot of us wanting to physically support the developer who seems to be saving all of his latent ability and "upgrades" for the future release of Psychopomp 2, which still lacks a release date outside of the little sneak peeks they slipped into the remastered version.

Conclusion
I highly recommend that you test this version of the game before moving on to the newer and more refined version, Psychopomp Gold. If you enjoy this and want more stuff, download the most recent version and have at it. Unfortunately, it is not a sequel, but it will keep you satisfied for the time being while you wait for the genuine sequel to be made and launched.

The next big Action Roguelike?
You've played Risk of Rain 2 both solo and with friends. You've played Gunfire Reborn both solo and with friends, but most importantly, you branched out and played with other gamers on dedicated servers! I've become tired of seeing so many P2P and Local Co-op-styled multiplayer games where I need friends to have the game or host the server myself and become restricted to those that I know, when I'd rather meet and play with others.

Despite the fact that the demo was so brief, I thoroughly enjoyed it. While the game is now in early access granting even more content, it only includes around 5 hours of material (unlocks) before hitting a wall with no extra biomes, challenge modes, or other delicious stuff, it should be released sometime in the future. So, with that said, the gameplay is highly fast-paced. You can perma dodge (though you're not invincible), the bosses and monsters are all awesome, and there are loads of secret locations, weapon builds, skill combos and trinkets and challenges to complete solo or with friends/others.

If you're playing with pals and someone dies, the game switches to sudden death mode, which makes bosses even more exciting. Essentially, this option adjusts the amount of damage you take to cause instant death. So you have to kill ten foes to revive them and exit that phase, which makes bosses considerably more enjoyable to clutch through.

Conclusion
I haven't had this much fun with an Action Roguelike since RoR2 and Gunfire Reborn, before becoming bored with the repetitive nature of the stronger and more powerful characters that were released over time. So, if you're in that sort of pit and want to check this bad boy out, it's going to be something truly remarkable after it's had time to fully grow. There isn't enough content to successfully burn out on here right now, so I'd wait until more items are added, otherwise go crazy, but don't burn out too fast!

Informative Review
I like the game, firstly.

Have you played the original Psychopomp? If so, you've already played Psychopomp GOLD. Now, before you smack me with the powerful clown award $$$, let me explain. When I first heard about Psychopomp GOLD, I didn't do any research; I prefer to go into games blind, so I expected it to be a sequel to the first rather than an extension in the most basic sense.

This is a game that was decided on by the community, which if you know isn't the largest or all that keen on your opinions outside of Pyschopomp being the best of the best.

It didn't appear like I could "continue" from the previous game, thus I had to restart the game from the very beginning, just like in the Free Version which wasn't too terrible since I knew where everything was. Yes, there are two additional levels for two more eggs, and some other places to explore but they outside of the hidden secrets add nothing to the mix in terms of dialogue or story to find just very drawn out, slow and boring walking and the ever threat of dying to have to start the level all over again on your first run, save from figuring out how to obtain the keys to enter more of the girls' home. Which was kind of just exhausting since you have to start over if you miss them? The biggest gripe, most of the content added in, is unlocked at the end of the game, third person mode, etc. So you're kind of forced to play the game fully again, which isn't a problem for those who obsess over it to find the secrets.

There are some enigmatic details, more secrets hidden within a few changes to the terrain at the start and other such minor features, such as the phone number you need to contact (secret) and a trailer ending to the game that highlights Psychopomp (2), the genuine sequel that has yet to be announced, in which you play as a guy version of her from another planet who is being attacked by the girls' awakened form.

Conclusion
I'm not a contrarian, I just like to voice my honest opinion. It's similar to how OneShot recently had a remaster, where it was redone in a virtual desktop, same game, few different features.

I am not suggesting Psychopomp is awful or GOLD. The games bizarre and fantastic. I'm saying that if you want to help the developer, you can pay and play this version of the game, which has a small amount of extra content that I don't find really intriguing.

If you're new to the series, try the free version first, then decide if you want to support it by purchasing this edition. The same goes for anyone who has already played the free version. If you loved it, support it. I didn't like it very much cause I was expecting something that wasn't just a slightly remastered version of the original. I'll still support the dev as I support every IndieDev. I still like what the original had to offer and the rest of the content that was added in here is sure to appeal to the die hard fans, but this wasn't for me. After having played through the game 4-5 times. I really don't want to do that again to experience the added in content.

Waiting patiently for the actual sequel to come out. Sorry, not trying to piss people off, I genuinely like the game, but am more or less disappointed, since i'm not obsessed like most.

Very interesting concepts
Normally, I am not particularly interested in the bulk of Tower Defense games, despite the fact that it is one of my favorite genres. Tower Factory takes what makes a tower defense game great and adds to it, to make it even more challenging with additional strategy and addictive gameplay, definitely something that should be played by you to understand what I mean by that. If the trailer doesn't persuade you, I'm not sure what else would!
