Rabi-Ribi is a diamond in the rough.

Underneath the diabetus-indusing, weeaboo-hooking visuals of this charming little game from china lies a surprisingly difficult and rewarding metroidvania, especially notable for releasing before other classics like owlboy and even almost two years earlier than Samus Returns.

The main game feels like it's split into two different parts:

• Using your found abilities to explore the wide open and surprisingly diverse sidescrolling levels.
  
• Taking on difficult bullet hell platforming boss fights

With a killer soundtrack, bullet patterns that wouldn't be out of place in (and sometimes directly taken from) touhou project, and being updated with added content and bug fixes to this day, this is definetely a pick-up for any fans of bullet hells, metroidvanias, and playboy bunnies. okaymaybedontbesoopenaboutthatlastone
