Early Access Review
Very brilliant game mimic the zombie apocalypse.
Plot & Story: Average
Gameplay: Very Good
Graphics & Design: Good
Sound & Music: Good
Replayability: Strong

  • Gameplay: Easy to control (Keyboard or Mouse). The UI is a bit odd, but easy to get use to it. The main loop of the game is "looting -> running -> consuming -> building -> looting -> ... -> die!". Yes you will die a lots!
  • Realistic survival simulation: Beside of manage hunger, fatigue, illness, and zombies, the game offer a wide variety of jobs with pretty much details on it. Ex: To fix a car brace we have to remove the tire first. 4 braces according to 4 tire positions. And it needs appropriate tools to be able to replace it.
  • Open-World Sandbox: The game features an open-world with too many sandbox option at the begin of new play, allowing players to explore a large map filled with various locations. It has server option for multiplayer and trust me, it is way more fun to hear your friends (or whoever you are playing with) screams in panic when they approach zombies.
  • Community & Dev Support: The game is still in-development which mean there would be more contents coming up and more aspects would be improved. It has an active modding community. There are too many gameplay, items, maps,... that you can tailor with to make your game exclusive and unique.
  • Crafting and Building: Crafting plays a significant role in Project Zomboid. You can gather resources, build shelters, and create tools to enhance your chances of survival. The crafting system adds depth to the gameplay and the building system help people who enjoy relaxing time build their own dream house after the tense moment. Still, you need mods to access more building models. Otherwise you have to carry them home from some in-game building.
  • Character Customization: You can create and customize their characters, there are many good and bad traits for you to choose from. After choosing a job you will have skill points to spend. Each good traits will decrease your skill point depend on how strong that trait is, vice versa. Again you will need mods to add more character customization options (hair mostly) and traits to your game. There are also mods for clothing but you will have to gather it in-game.
