Iv been playing FM for 17 years since Championship Manager 01/02 and having now played around 50 hours on this new version can safely say its great fun, very realistically punishing - and a lot of the negative reviews are completely unwarranted other than for reasons such as little change since the previous iteration or people having bad in-game experiences with the way matches have played out. I think whats good about this game is they have stuck with the realistic old school RPG text based approach to the core gameplay, press conferences, player interactions, training and team morale etc everything you would expect to have a big effect - does indeed have a big effect on the outcomes of games and more.

Im not going to defend the clear negatives like lack of major change/improvement since previous versions and if some people feel that the game is too hard then that might just be a lack of skill frankly... It doesnt feel any harder than any previous version I have played to me personally and in my opinion similairly to the FIFA series games like this do not change drastically by nature of preserving the core gameplay so although I would love to see major changes and imprvoments in the next version I would be catuious about having the core gameplay changed too much because it is currently in a very fun state and is very true to the old school original versions...

Personally I highly recommend it most of all if you havent played a FM game ever before - dont miss out on it from that perspective as its amazing fun and sucks you in for days on end but be aware that there is not a major difference between this one and the previous versions if you are a long term player/fan.

Be aware that the optimization is still quite bad - but the game itself is very fun, innovative enough for a survival game to be interesesting and also has very beautiful graphics (again though, the optimization is bad so dont expect to be running the high end settings anytime soon)... I can see the game being a big success if the developers are quick to work on the frame rate and general optimization, focusing on anything else will see the game land in an early grave.

This game is surprisingly epic! Give it a try the games take 2 minutes or so to fill typically at worst times of day but the game itself is incredibly good. Not pay to win at all and no microtransactions even in the game as far as I can tell yet (great!). Give it a try if you want a new BR to play this game is definitley worth your time.

i had a positive review up initially but currently cannot recommend again until the developers wake up and add some end-game content (i.e questing, roaming interactive human NPC's)... None of what you would expect once you hit the higher levels is implemented and the faction system is just a bad joke until Black Sunset has more added to it... Its a shame because this game probably has more potential to be great than most of the games on the entirety of the Steam platform but sadly the developers are lazy.

Its really well optimised all the people complaining about the game not running well need to just upgrade their systems to 2017. I have an i5 6600k and Nvidia 960 GTX card and I can run the game in the highest maxed out settings at 1080p 60fps+ no drops whatsoever (whilst im using a screen recorder on top...). The gameplay feels nice - the best its felt since WaW in fact - Sniping feels great (As a long term player with decent skill iv racked up multiple collateral clips and feeds already). The only bad thing is the forced diversity with playable female characters etc... Its the best cod in years as it rewards long term players for their skill garnered over the games lifespan by taking us back to the old school formula of narrow alleyd maps and boots on the ground. Ignore the haters, they are probably all poor as hell and cant afford the required system specs. 9/10

Damn this game is as good as people say... Dont expect 2017 graphics or even close for that matter - mods can help but regardless the strong point of the game is its story telling and random encounters and all around random nature giving you a different experience of survival in the zone each time. Its very similair to the early Fallout titles.
