The comparison I am going to make later in this post isn't going to be a fair one but it'll help push my point forward.

First, the content. I started MH as a series with Wilds as my first game. I was fascinated with the beta monsters, and I was hyped coming into it after seeing a lot of the older generations and all the cool monsters and what not and I was equally enraptured when launch hit. Every monster had my full attention, and felt amazing to fight. Every monster felt like how I would imagine them, some even surprising me with some of the moves they had. The weapon I chose had some play into the enjoyment, as Switch Axe was amazing. The flare of the moves, the satisfaction of offsetting a monsters attack just to drop my axe right onto their head, the big bursts of energy from the discharges and slashes of sword mode, all of it was amazing. And plenty of other weapons share that same flare.

However, the content began to fall short quickly. High Rank monsters didn't really feel like they had much change, same goes for the tempered monsters as well. The only big change was how much damage they did and how much health they had. Even the bigger monsters like Jin Dahaad or Zoh Shia felt stagnant in their changes, and almost felt like a cake walk. (Zoh Shia not so much as I did cart a few times through my first couple of fights). I didn't really feel challenged outside of Gore Magala and AT Rey Dau. We need more AT monsters. I understand they're meant to be a sort of spectacle thing through event quests and such, but when your only real challenge begins at AT monsters, especially coming from a new player, there clearly needs to be something done. (I'm sure I'll eat my words soon enough). Not to mention, the Meta revolving around Artian weapons is only killing that feel of difficulty.

On that same note, the difficulty is very lackluster in comparison to older games. I've been playing a lot of MH Rise recently while waiting for TU's in Wilds and I have been having a much rougher time with Rise than Wilds. I've noticed myself carting more, healing more, and all around just getting hit harder by every monster there even the lower tier ones of HR. I cant just willy nilly around in Rise like I can in Wilds. And while yes, Rise had switch skills and wirebugs to improve your damage numbers, they don't have the same impact as something like wounds do in Wilds. The wound system in Wilds, as far as I'm still concerned, feels like an even more overpowered version of Clutch Claw. I understand Claw was an Iceborne addition in Wilds, but it wasn't balanced for base game and makes monsters much easier to fight. The wound system in Wilds has this same issue across the whole game STILL as far as I'm aware.

On top of all this, the games performance has been shoddy at best. When I started playing Wilds, I was running specs closer to the recommended and barely breaking 40 frames consistently on the lowest settings possible. I would drop to the 30's in select areas and only ever get 60 in places like the Wounded Hollow and Zoh Shia's arena. Even running a build with the minimum specs shares that same performance aspect. To make matters worse, I've been playing with someone else, who has a much beefier build than i do, who has been experiencing performance issues all the same. It makes it extremely difficult to look at the game and play through it when your eyes are straining to keep up with the lower framerates.

All in all, I want to enjoy Wilds and Monster Hunter as a whole but I also wish to not see the franchise die. Here's to hoping that TU2 and future TU's help fix things up.

Biggest complaint.

No protection after getting pulled from a hatch. Lost all three lives in the span of only a few seconds. Almost impossible to play because of this.

Behavior is really letting themselves go with these latest patches. Really it started back with the unknown, This yknow eldritch being that takes the form of things surrounding it so it can blend in and it just turns out to be another ranged killer. Each patch in recent times just seems to release with some sort of major bug or several minor bugs that make the game unplayable and often gets played off as a "feature" (see Ghoul chapter). Fog vials have been a horrible addition and a buggy mess off release. The list could go on. Especially considering the way they handled their most recent livestream.

Quit giving your money to this lackluster company. Yes, there isn't any game like DBD out there right now because FT13 got shut down, TCM Game is dead as far as I'm aware, and several other DBD-likes haven't met expectations, but just don't. Find a new genre to stick to, find a new game to grasp your attention. Leave this lost cause behind.

Definitely a game I enjoy! Very well thought out and very fun to play for hours on end with friends.

Plus the devs take well to feedback, and even use their discord community for ideas. Love it.

I've loved the Borderlands series for a long while now and even though Borderlands 3 might've been a little lacking in maybe one or two areas, it still showed the borderlands series some great love and continued on that brought everyone's attention along whenever Borderlands had originally came out.

I like the game, the only issue is, you can see the goggles of the airborne division through smoke.

Listen, some people love this game, some people hate this game.

What I will say is this: If you enjoy games that test your patience... that make you wanna break ♥♥♥♥ and scream, then get this game. 5 dollah isn't all that much.

Just know you're in for one hell of a time. You gotta deal with a really shoddy physics engine, skill being capped behind framerates, and a whole other bunch of stuff that will make you suffer.

Also, to the person that keeps begging me to play this game: ♥♥♥♥ you, i don't wanna suffer anymore.

Everyone says this game is ruined. That's different for me. The game is still the way it was, meaning good. I enjoy it, and enjoy other competitive type games like rainbow six siege, and heroes and generals. It's still enjoyable. I'd say 8.5/10 Still Love THIS GAME.
