Thought it was GTAV, it's better than GTA

great game, during pre-industrial age you get warminger penalties against all civilizations which balances out domination victor and makes it more difficult. Science is the easiest victory while religon is the most difficult. Score is also hard due to all civilizations that vote against you to win this victory. Score and cultural are medium difficult victories.
Most civs are balanced out (and it can be further modified in the setup menu).
Great mod support and mod community.
The DLC is great, makes the game much more fun to play (the diplomatic victory is only available with the DLC's).

Game progression is also quite balanced, if you play well you can become very overpowered late game as you can easily dominate in science or culture.

There are a couple of overpowered things tho like Venetian arsenal (when you build any boat you get one extra free, even if its a fleet or armada).
Sometimes the strategic resources are very difficult to get, you are often in a game where you have literally no oil or uranium so expanding fast is definitely recommended (minimum 10 cities work i've noticed).

(these are of course all based on my opinion and compared between other civ games, and other games in the same genre, EU4, Anno series, Civ 4, Civ 5, Age Of Empires, Cities Skylines, Simcity, Rome, Stellaris, Banished, Polytopia :3, etc)

So do I recommend it?

Quite a good story, sometimes a bit strange but that's fun

+lots of fun singleplayer
+a ton of vehicles, aircraft and weapons to choose from online
+there's a lot to do online

Cons
-too many hackers
-overpriced vehicles
-too many unbalanced features

My review in 2 words: absolutely stunning

+variety of options
+mods
+DLC
+frequent updates
+works on bad pc's

-same music, same traffic
-DLC not cheap
