I thought this was gonna be about a group of bros slamming brewskies and trying to pick up chicks, so you can imagine how pleased I was when it turned out to be an extremely awesome milsim.

I Am An ATC is really good - it's basically Airport Madness for grown-ups - but the price point makes it impossible to recommend. It's full 3D and it's a lot more detailed and immersive than those other ATC games, but it's also more or less the same thing.

This is a niche indie game going for the same price of a AAA title, and that's just impossible to defend. I got it on sale, and I'm enough of a nerd to think that's worth it, but for the vast majority of people, the product won't match the price.

That the DLC is also massively overpriced points to a serious problem on the business side for TechnoBrain. With a more reasonable price point, this game could be huge, but right now, I just can't recommend it to people no matter how much I like it.

Here is how global politics work: Battlefront makes a game about a hypothetical conflict. Some douchebag out in the world sees it, and goes "Hey, that's actually a great idea". And that's how wars start.

I loaded a scenario that I had put 1½ hours into, only to find that saving breaks the manual switching in the game, so I'm left using the map to pull manual switches, which is faster, but not great for realism.

And this is essentially a study sim. It's 30 euros for the core game, and it's got a lot of full price DLC, so it's pretty bizarre that the developers don't seem to care about the basic functionality of their game.

It's especially sad because Train Sim World 2 is really fun to play. It looks good, the gameplay is sharp, it's got clickable cockpits, but it doesn't really matter if the game breaks on you.

A simulator needs to be properly engineered, tested and supported, and Train Sim World 2 obviously isn't.

I've only completed a couple of races, but I can already say that this is an almost picture perfect remake of Power Drive from 1994.

It's in 3D, it's got more cars, but as soon as I started playing it was instant recognition. It's exactly the same gameplay, and it's so fun to be playing it again after all these years.

I couldn't say whether it holds up without the nostalgia, but I spent hours upon hours on Power Drive back in the day, so this was made for me. Fantastic!
