Squad is possibly the most immersive and fun mil-sim shooter on the market that requires communication, coordination, strategy, and teamwork to be successful. Matches are large scale 50 v 50 battles on absolutely massive maps. The guns are satisfying to shoot, the attention to detail is phenomenal, and every role has a purpose on a squad. Each match plays differently as the commander can assign different responsibilities to each squad like, pushing the objective, locating enemy HAB's, or setting up FOB's to have a base closer to objectives. The soundtrack and sound design are also really good. The community is the most friendly community I've interacted with in any game. Just make sure you know the rules of a server before you start playing. Performance can sometimes be an issue during moments with lots of effects like artillery strikes, but having a higher end machine makes frame-rate drops less jarring. It can be difficult to get into at first as it plays differently than a lot of other shooters. There can also be a lot of downtime where nothing's going on, so I'd recommend watching uncut footage online before purchasing. The game is still getting updates too, with another map releasing a few days from the time I wrote this review. With that being said, I would highly recommend Squad for anyone who's interested in the tactical shooter / mil-sim genre.
