Dear Phil,

I just wanted to take a moment to say how proud I am of you for coming out of the closet. I know coming out can be such a personal and sometimes challenging experience, and it means a lot to me that you trusted me enough to share this part of your journey. You’ve always been such a strong, compassionate, and inspiring person, and this is just another example of your courage.

It takes a lot of bravery to embrace who you truly are, and I admire the way you’ve done so with such honesty. I want you to know that I’m here for you, always, and that I’ll support you no matter what. You’re amazing just as you are, and I’m lucky to call you my friend.
