I've never had any interest in character action games or Japanese developed games as a whole, but against all odds I bought and played this and..... its worth playing.

If you're interested in this game at all try not to look up too much about it though. Going in blind as can be is the truest way to play. I even put a spoiler on my real feelings about the game, that's how badly I want people to not be spoiled even if its just keeping expectations in check.

But if you must knowNot only is it my game of the year, but it has secured a place on my personal list of best games of all time. A true masterpiece
